AFTER searching the whole building, the two young women jumped out a window—nearly falling off their feet by the high roof and the snowy storm that has caught up to them. Devon could feel the coldness freezing the fabric of her dress into her skin, creating goosebumps and itching.

The only thing found around the buildings was ammo and more infected, but the two passed them, beating them to their death than their own—not to mention spores and ending up taking their gas mask out. Devon handled herself well; no marks stayed behind, now Ellie and Devon were heading to the next lookout. The lookout was not nearly far, just past the next town, and the two were good for a few minutes. Devon climbed on her horse and rode out the forest, leading the way for Ellie, hoping she was catching up close.

The Sawyer woman whipped her head back to check in on Ellie, who was hot on her tail. "The storm's picking up!" Ellie shouts, pulling the hood of her jacket over her head, the snow following behind the two constantly and blurring out Devon Sawyer from Ellie's view.

"Ah shit! Devon?! I lost you!"

"Ellie!" Devon panicked.

The blizzard getting worse by the second, Devon made sure to turn her horse around, going back to look for Ellie. She shouts through the storm, holding one hand up to shield herself from the circles of snow. All Devon could hear was the air blowing in her eardrums...Ellie nowhere to be seen.  While filled with fright and anxiety crawling under her skin, Devon finds herself near a little cabin that both her and Dina come across but never check out.

Instead of turning around to leave and head back towards town like Jesse always said each patrol. Devon rode her horse towards the house—she figured Ellie turned back to town—  Ellie was already in the cabin. it was the first place she seen that was 'stable' enough to enter. She made sure to tie up Shimmer. In her mind, she thought Devon ran off without her and went back to the town.
