=====================

"Argh" Remus grumbled, running his hand over his face as he squeezed his eyes shut.

"What is it now?" James asked from across the table.

"The sunlight" Remus mumbled back as he shielded his eyes.

"Ironic. Since it was the moonlight that caused this problem" James responded quietly earning a chuckle from Peter and Sirius and a swift kick under the table from you.

You then began to run your fingers through Remus' hair as he'd now taken to resting his head on the table. "Why don't you go back to bed Rem?"

"I can't miss any more lessons" he replied solemnly. The pair of you continued with some gentle chatter, while being quietly observed, unbeknownst to you both.

Sirius took an agitated stab at his eggs. Remus would be fine by the end of the day, so why did he need this much attention? He, Sirius, had a head cold and all you had done was bade him a good morning. It wasn't fair.

"Hey, (Y/n). You'll never guess what I found in Filch's office-" Sirius began.

"One moment darling, let me just help Rem with this" you replied as gently as always. You looked back down to where you were now helping Remus to finish off some last minute homework.

Sirius felt the heat radiate off of him as his brow creased in annoyance. You used to always have time for him. But recently it seemed like you only ever had time for Remus. He knew you were equally friends with all of four them but he believed his point still stood. He wanted to talk to you too!

He spent the rest of the day in a mood. As he predicted, Remus began to get steadily better throughout the day but you continued to dote on him anyway. Even for days after.

It was known to all that you had a soft spot for Remus. You'd had a close family member with lycanthropy and so you were somewhat of an expert on how to help him after he'd gone through a full moon.

Of course Sirius was happy his friend had someone like that in his life but at the same time he was frustrated that person had to be you.

You had always been such a calming presence to his day. You were the only person who could get him to calm down whenever he felt his temper rise. When you spoke to him, you made him feel like no one else in the world mattered but him. He knew he wasn't a special case. That you were just like that.

But then he why did he dread the thought of sharing you with anyone else?

"Black!"

Sirius came around just in time to swerve an incoming bludger. Right. He was currently in Quidditch practice. Probably not the best time to let his mind wander.

"A second later and that would've wiped you clean off your broom! The match is in two weeks, get it together!" the captain shouted at him before flying off. Sirius took one last longing look to the stands where you and Remus laughed about something together before he flew off to rejoin the practice.
