Chapter - 16

Dusha weds '???' 🤔

In hastinapur sabha-

Jaydrath lifted his hand to slap Aasha when he felt his hand getting twisted mercilessly. He felt his bone inside breaking making a huge cracking sound. He screamed in agony.

Aasha who closed her eyes in reflex opened them hearing the scream. She kept her hands on the shoulder of Harsha as if he's a sheild.

Harsha still didn't left the guy's hand and kept twisting it making him shout his lungs out. The birds flew away listening the screams.

Harsha : Don't you dare touch even a hair strand of yadav kanyas. Maharaj drithrastr tell your soon to be son in law to be in his limits. I won't tolerate if anyone try to disrespect my best friend's sisters. (He said turning his eyes towards drithrastr.)

Harsha : Soldiers! Chain him. He tried to touch a royal princess without her permission.

When this was all happening Aasha was just looking at him while having a huge smile on her face still keeping her hands on his shoulder. She removed her hands from his shoulder and folded her hands against her chest.

Harsha was busy in torchering jaydrath mercilessly. While Aasha tried to talk to dushala controlling her smile.

Aasha : Dushala you have to speak up for yourself. If you love someone, then tell about that to your parents. Try to understand the situation if you don't speak up now. Remember you have to share a bed with a stranger whom you don't even love. Say something. You have to tell them the truth then only they could help you.

Dushala gathered some courage looking at her best friend who held her hand in support and said.

Dushala : Pithashree! The king of sindhu came into my room without my permission and tried to touch me without my will but everytime bratha Harsha or Aasha had saved me. I don't want to marry him pi-tashree. (She said while breathing heavily and looking at the floor.)

Aasha : You didn't told about the person you love dusha. Come on tell them. (Dushala shook her head as no to her but she forced her to tell.)

Dushala started speaking when they all heard another scream coming from jaydrath. Aasha immediately turned her head towards Harsha who was busy with breaking the man's fingers now.

Aasha couldn't help but broke out into a smile. Everyone in the sabha observed that. She ignored their stares and said.

Aasha : Yo! Chatterbox, Yaha pe ek ladki apni pasandida mard ko propose kar rahi hai aur tum ho ki vaha pe investigation pe lage ho? (Here, a girl is proposing to her man and you are busy investigating.)

Harsha : Why don't you just stop calling me chatterbox, rajkumari. (He said still back facing the ethereal beauty.)

Aasha was now smiling widely. The youngsters are already smirking looking at the obvious couple.

Aasha : Marry me and then I'd give you immeasurable respect. (She said controlling her grin.)

Both pandavas and kauravas were grinning at the straight forward princess and were giving teasing looks to Harsha.

Elders present in the court got shocked hearing the direct proposal of yadava princess while subhadra just giggled.

Harsha turned around while keeping his one hand on his heart and said with a smirk on his face.

Harsha : Bearing you for a day is so difficult for me. And you are talking about lifetime. Sorry princess no offence to you but I don't wanna experience hell on earth so early.

Aasha said while smirking back.

Aasha : Aww! Look at you tremble under my single gaze. Fear does suits you. Anyways, stop your investigation and listen here chatterbox. (She said mimicking him.)

Aasha : Dusha continue. (She said again holding the princess's hand for support.)

Dushala : I-I like kripinandan and only wanna marry him. (She said closing her eyes and looking at the ground.)

Listening her both Aasha and Harsha grinned at Aswathama who was quite shocked hearing the princess's words.

Harsha was about to say something when duryodhan started moving towards dushala. Everyone thought he was gonna slap his sister for her choice. And Harsha tried to stop him too thinking the same. But what shocked everyone present there is when he hugged dushala while caressing her hair and said.

Duryodhan (suyo) : I'm more than happy if my friend becomes my brother in law. (He said smiling at her and turning his head towards aswathama who was in deep thoughts.)

Both harsha and duryodhan both winked at each other and said at the same time.

Harsha/suyo :  Now aswathama won't be a brahmachari anymore. (After saying this they both high fived each other.)

Aswathama looked at them both with betrayed expression and looked at his father for some support but the old man is already talking to the king about the day of marriage.

Aswathama : I won't leave you both. How can you throw me in a hell named marriage and enjoy your single selves. (He said to the friends duo who are giggling at his state.)

Dushala is literally glowing with happiness. Looking at her friend happy Aasha was happy as well. She started teasing the hell out of dushala who became a tomato already.

Harsha went near Aasha and said in her ear.

Harsha : Aswathama wants to talk to dusha alone. Can you take her to my room rajkumari.

Aasha didn't even heard a word he spoke as she was shivering due to his breath touching her neck. She's feeling a weird feeling in her stomach.

Hearing no response from Aasha Harsha shook her shoulders which brought her back from her lala world and  said him to repeat his words.

Aasha : Okay! I will take her to your room.

Both Aasha and Harsha dropped the couple inside harsha's room and were waiting outside in the corridor looking outside of the palace at the open balcony in front of the room.

Aasha looked at him fondly. She don't know what she's feeling towards him but she did noticed some change in her behaviour towards Harsha over the period of their meeting.

Sensing the stare of Aasha, Harsha said.

Harsha : I know I'm handsome princess, you don't have to stare at me that much long.

Aasha turned her back from him while her cheeks turned red not wanting him to know she's blushing. Harsha who noticed her blushing profusely just chuckled at the adorable princess.

She ran to her room and closed the door and attached her back to the door smiling while her eyes sparkled hinting how much happy she was.

She jumped on her bed giggling and squealing. She don't know what gotten into her. She's feeling shy and at the same time she want to know what's she feeling.

She started remembering their first meet till today.

She remembered how her heart softened the day in kalapradarshan where he sung a song while giggling and dancing in rain. She don't know why but she felt that's not the first time he did that.

And now she's feeling safe around him due to his protectiveness. She couldn't help but squeal again remembering how he broke the hand of jaydrath just because he raised it to slap her.

At this moment, she realized that she had fallen in love with that chatterbox madly. So much that now it's hard to back away.
