Boring princess
People like to say Aurora has no personality in this film.
Mostly because she has little screen time, little dialogue, and little character development.
But they are all overlooking the fact that Disney's personality traits come through the animation, not the dialogue.
For instance, when you first see Aurora and the fairies are shooing her out of the cottage, you can see in her face that she knows what they're doing.
She knows they're planning something for her birthday, but plays along for the sake of the surprise.
And there are some people (especially my father) who make fun of her crying just because the fairies told her not to see Prince Philip again.
I mean, think about it. She just found out her whole life was a giant lie. She has every right to be unsettled.
And seriously, she kept herself composed on the entire walk back to the castle.
I'd call that personality.
Also, unlike Snow White and Cinderella who just ran away from their princes, Aurora actually decided to get to know Philip more by inviting him over.
And furthermore, how do the vocal stylings of Mary Costa have no personality? They're just too gorgeous!
