Why Aurora has two names
In the Sleeping Beauty story by the Brothers Grimm, the princess's name was Briar Rose.
And in Tchaikovsky's ballet, her name was Princess Aurora.
So the Disney version used both!
They compromised it by having the fairies rename her Briar Rose while hiding her.
