I hear Dean groan beside me. He hates Hunter. A lot. So spending time with him more than he has to is something he despises doing.
I, on the other hand, begin shaking almost immediately. Sure, when I was in high school I was in the principals office my fair share of times, but this is different. I don't know why were being called into the office with him.
Dean takes my hand and we begin to walk down the hall. Hunter eyes our hands together suspiciously, but doesn't say anything about it.
Dean slowly walks with a stern and pissed off look to his face, but as we walk he caresses the back of my hand with his thumb, helping me to relax slightly.
We follow behind hunter who is texting on his phone the entire walk over. We finally reach a door with his name on the front, and he opens it for us.
I thank him as I walk through, but Dean stays quiet and doesn't say a word.
The door slams, and I jump slightly. Dean lets go of my hand and walks over to what is clearly Hunter's desk. I stand awkwardly in the middle of the room with my hands folded in front of me and staring down at my feet.
Dean sits down in the large black leather chair and props his feet on top of the desk.
"Get off your ass Ambrose" Hunter demands, but Dean rolls his eyes and holds his hands behind his neck relaxingly. I want to tell him to stop being an ass to our boss, and to take things seriously so that we don't get into trouble, but I know he won't listen to me about this, he enjoys it too much.
"This is a comfy chair" Dean compliments, rubbing the arms of the chair up and down. I can see Hunter glaring at Dean.
"Stop being a dick, we have stuff to talk about" Hunter orders.
"Well well well, swearing on the job." Dean shakes his head, and tisks at Hunter, shaking his finger at him. Hunter sighs deeply, and it's obvious that he's getting madder. He turns to me.
"Do you know why you're in here?" He asks. His suit is once again straight as a pin and looks like it was ironed professionally. I look over to Dean and stare at him with pleading eyes to stop being a jerk and pushing Hunter to be more mad.
I don't respond to him, and I hear Dean stand up from Hunters desk. Hunter looks over and smirks lightly, he obviously thinks that he was the one that got Dean out of the chair. Dean stands beside me and crosses his arms in front of his chest.
"No we don't because you haven't stopped bitching long enough-" Dean begins, but Hunter steps in front of him and gets into his face.
"I'm going to tell you one last time! Shut the hell up!" Hunter exclaims, and I jump slightly at the intensity of his voice, and take a step back. Dean, on the other hand, doesn't seem fazed at all by Hunters sudden outburst.
" If you scare her like that one more time I'm going to embarrass you in front of all of your corporate friends" Dean says in a low voice, I can tell Hunter has made him mad, like he has to Hunter. I touch Dean on the shoulder to try and relax him, but he brushes me off.
"Ambrose, go stand over there" Hunter shrugs his shoulder towards the other side of the room behind him. Dean chuckles, his eyes wide.
"Excuse me? I'm not gonna stand over there and have a freaking time out" Dean snaps, baffled that Hunter would speak to him like that. Something bad must have happened between the two of them to make Dean disrespect him like this. Dean always said he is big on respect, and if somebody doesn't give it to him, they aren't getting it from him. But usually people respect there bosses no matter how badly there bosses have treated them. I've never seen anybody talk to there boss like this, and I know Dean needs to cut it down a notch or two or else he's going to be in serious trouble.
"Dean, just listen to him" I plead in the nicest voice I can. Dean hesitantly walks over to where Hunter smiles at me to thank me, but I keep a straight face. I don't like him, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because whoever Dean hates, I seem to dislike. But there's something about him that makes my stomach uneasy.
"Now, Wade Barrett told me that you were attacking a fan" Hunter says, eyeing me. I open my mouth to say something, but shut it before I say something I regret. I really don't know how to defend the actions from earlier. I was mad that she was kissing Dean? Anyway that I say it, Hunter can simply say I need to control my emotions. Which I guess I do, sort of.
"Yeah.. I'm really sorry about that, and I'll make sure it doesn't happen again" I tell Hunter. He shakes his head disapprovingly at me.
From over hunters shoulder, I see Dean out of the corner of my eye wave his hand around to try and catch my attention. I sneak a peak over to Dean, and see him mocking hunter's disapproving look, but over exaggerating it a lot. He shakes his finger and mouths words silently, and I stifle a giggle. Dean counties this, making the weirdest and funniest expressions I have ever seen from him. He's trying to get me to laugh in front of Hunter, but i manage to keep my laughs into my arm.
Hunter stares at me trying to hide my laugh and not look at Dean. He turns around to see what I'm laughing at, and at that exact second, Dean returns to normal and pretends to be reading something on top of hunters desk.
Hunter slowly turns around, and I can see him getting more annoyed. He sighs and shuts his eyes for a second.
"If this continues, you guys are going to have to be separated. Your personal business is none of our concern, but if you can't handle Dean being seen with female fans and vice versa, you won't be allowed to ride together." Hunter threatens, and Dean rolls his eyes. Hunter can't separate us and say we can't hang out together, he has no control over that. It's merely an empty threat.
"Go get ready for the show Ambrose." Hunter orders, obviously tired of our shenanigans. Dean smirks, obviously proud that he's seemed to have won against Hunter.
"Later, Hunty" Dean says, walking towards the door of the office. He takes my hand and pulls me gently with him. I know he's only taking my hand to rub it in Hunters face that we don't care what he says. I feel really weird right now. I've never been one to be a
complete rule breaker, but I wasn't exactly a saint either. I've never talked to a boss like that before, or acted like that to any type of authority. It felt kind of fun, and I'm glad Dean introduced me to this side of life.
"That was hilarious, but thanks for almost getting me in trouble" I tell him, and he shrugs.
"He's lucky I didn't smash his computer or something. He's such an ass" Dean complains, and I nod in agreement. I remember I used to idolize triple H, but as I've gotten to know him and heard the stories of the new C.O.O role that he plays, I'm not as fond anymore.
"I have to go get ready" Dean tells me as we walk down the hall still hand in hand. We pass by a few people with headsets, obviously back stage crew for the show, and we pass important looking executives in suits. None of them really pay attention to us, but a few give Dean a weird glance when he pushes past them to get through. It seems like Dean has some kind of beef with every person in a suit back here.
"Okay, I'll go find John" I simply tell him, and he stops walking instantly.
"What?" He asks, and I can't hold in my laugh.
"Kidding" I poke him in the shoulder, and he smiles lightly.
"I'll see you after my match" he tells me, and I nod. He takes my face into his palms and kisses the top of my head.
"Be careful out there" I tell him. Now that I think about it, I haven't watched Dean wrestle since I've started in the WWE. I'm nervous, because if he gets hurt, I don't know how I'll handle it.
"No promises" he tells me, and turns to walk away. I stick my hand out and slap him on the backside. He looks at me over the shoulder, pretending to be offended, but not hiding the smile.
"Pervert" he calls, and I shrug.
"Oops" I know this is completely childish, but it's so fun to mess with Dean.
"We'll pick this up after my match" he winks, and walks away. My stomach flutters at his comment. No, don't overthink this Riley.
I watch Dean walk towards the locker room with his suitcase behind him. He stops to talk to Roman, and I decide to go find Punk. I haven't seen him for a few days, and he was nice to talk to.
It's like a maze back here, the signs don't really help anybody get anywhere. I've been walking around for a few minutes, and still no sign of any divas or even superstars. I find myself near the entrance to the ring, and I know I'm in the wrong spot.
"Hey Riley" I hear somebody say. I turn around and see Paige standing behind me in a short black dress that hugs her curves.
"Hey!" I greet her. She seems less friendly than usual, and I stare at her questioningly. She doesn't seem to notice as she adjusts the bottom of her skirt and fixes her hair.
"What's wrong?" I decide to ask. There's something definitely wrong with Paige, her energy level is down and she seems... Sad?
"Me? Nothing" she forces a smile, but the edges of her mouth don't seem to fit her smile.
"Do you want to go somewhere more private to talk?" I ask, gesturing to the dozens of people walking past us every second. She nods silently, as tears begin to well up in her eyes. I link her arm with mine and quickly walk to find some sort of private room. Paige does not cry. That's simple. She hates people seeing her weak, so that's why I try to find us a hallway, a room, any private space as fast as possible.
We finally find a small electronic closet of some sorts, I don't even worry about what's in here, I just open the door and leave it a crack open. It's dusty and small, but it'll have to do.
By this time, she has a black stream of a makeup and tear mix falling down her cheek. I put my hands on her shoulders.
"What's wrong?" I ask. It hurts me to see Paige like this, usually I'm the one who's a mess, crying about one thing or another, but seeing Paige like this is strange.
"I'm just heartbroken" she confesses, and sniffles.
"What do you mean?" I ask quietly. It sounds like I'm talking to her like she's a 5 year old who just scraped her knee.
"It's been a very long 24 hours." She sighs, brushing her hands through her hair and taking a deep breath. I take my hands from her shoulders.
"How?" I ask. I'm questioning her a lot right now, but I need to know what happened before I can comfort her.
"I have to tell you something, but you can't tell anybody" she searches my eyes, hers blurred over from the tears.
"Of course" I promise her. She sighs deeply, and stares at the floor, shutting her eyes.
"A few weeks ago, the first day you trained with Dean... Well I stayed back at the hotel. I was feeling pretty crummy, because my ex boyfriend Bradley is engaged. It felt like shit and I felt so lonely and..." She stops, and I don't know where this is going. I wait silently for her to continue the story.
"I called seth over, because he's one of my best guy friends. We were talking, and one thing led to another and we... did it..." She stares down at the ground. What does she mean by... Ohh.. They "did" it.
I still don't understand why she's crying, but I assume she's going to tell me.
"So after that happened, he told me it was a mistake, and he didn't want anyone to know about it. It really hurt, like really badly. It made me feel so unwanted, between Seth and Bradley... But I thought Seth actually cared about me. He doesn't. Today, seeing him just really hurt. I needed to tell somebody" Paige tells me, and rests her forehead on my shoulder, sobbing onto my shirt. I hug her, and wait for her to calm down.
So this is why things were so awkward between Seth and Paige in the lobby. It all makes sense. I feel so bad for Paige.
"Paige, just remember, you're a beautiful girl and you don't need any boy to be complete or as kick ass as you know you are." I tell her. I'm really not that good at giving advice, but I really just want to light a fire under Paige to be better, instead of being sad.
"I guess" she sniffles and whiles both of her under eyes, careful not to smudge her makeup anymore.
"Why don't we all do something tomorrow? Like a bunch of us. We're flying out tonight and you guy don't have a show tomorrow for once, so why not do something fun in the town were in" I suggest. She looks up at me.
"Like what?" She asks suspiciously. I know Paige loves doing stuff, anything fun she's up for it. So what could be fun to do that's in every town.
"Well, what do you want to do" I ask her, and she thinks for a moment.
"Can we skydive?" She asks, excitedly standing on her tiptoes. I hold up my hands in surrender.
"Sounds like fun, but Dean is scared of heights" I tell her, and she loses her smile lightly. I do want to do something with her, but I want it to be something that everyone can enjoy.
"What about an aquarium" I suggest, and she stares at me with disgust.
"Fish are gross" I sigh. We're never going to get anywhere with this.
"What about a zoo? I've never been to one, and they look like fun" she says. Hmm, a zoo does sound like fun, and there's something for everybody there.
"Sure! That sounds like fun!" I tell her, and she instantly smiles, completely forgetting about Seth and all of that bullshit. I want to keep the smile on her face, so we have to keep talking about this zoo trip to get her mind off of it.
"Who do you want to invite?" I ask, and take a step out of the storage room closet we were in.
"Well, I guess you can come" she tells me, and I jokingly hang my mouth open.
"Hey, who's paying for this trip?!" I say, and she laughs.
"Okay, so you and your boy toy can come." She smirks before continuing.
"What about Roman, and maybe Punk? Oh, Dolph would probably want to come too! And Nattie, and Naomi. Oh and-" she babbles on, but I cut her off.
"Okay, at this rate I'm going to have to sell one of my kidneys to pay for this" I joke, but I'm serious.
"Okay fine. You, me, Dean, punk, Roman and Nattie?" She asks, slight plead in her voice.
"Sure" I gladly tell her, anything to get her to keep smiling. She claps her hands and jumps around a few times.
"I've always wanted to see a monkey" she tells me excitedly. Now that I think about it, I've never been to a zoo either. I was supposed to go in third grade, but I got the flu and never went.
This is going to actually be fun, I think a day with friends is going to be super fun.
"Wanna go find Nattie to talk about it more?" Paige asks, and I nod, before she takes off running down the hall of the backstage. I giggle and jog after her to find Nattie.

A few hours later, the show is about halfway over. We've talked to everyone except Dean and Roman about the zoo trip tomorrow. We figured out we're going to be in Arizona tomorrow, so we looked up a Zoo. The only one that we could find that actually looked fun is a Zoo adventure park. Paige pleaded that we go there, so that she can ride some roller coasters with everybody. I finally agreed. I don't want to hold everyone back from what they want, so while they go on roller coasters, Dean and I can do something else.

"This is going to be so fun!" Nattie says, and I nod in agreement. Paige, Nattie and I stand in a small circle near the entrance to the ring, so we can hopefully see Dean before he goes out and tell him about the plan for tomorrow. I hope he's in a good mood tomorrow, if he isn't it's going to be a bad day.
"I can't wait" Paige tells us. As she speaks, Seth walks past us with J&J security scurrying behind him closely.
"Hey Seth" Nattie says, obviously not knowing about the tension between Seth and Paige.
Seth smiles at each of us, staring at Paige for an extra few seconds.
"Don't you have a match or something?" Paige excuses Seth, and turns away from him. He looks hurt. Not in the way of being embarrassed that she said that, but hurt like he wishes Paige would talk to him.
He doesn't say anything as his music suddenly fills our ears, and he pushes the black curtain out of his way, before an abrupt sounding of boos sounds. Paige smiles at the hatred Seth gets.
We begin to talk about a match that Nattie and Summer Rae had last week, before I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waste. I don't have to turn around to know its Dean. He doesn't say anything, he just rests his head on my shoulder and listens in on the conversation.
"Hey" Paige acknowledges Dean, and he unwraps an arm to wave to her.
"Your hair looks nice" Nattie compliments him, and he places his arm back around my stomach.
"Thanks" he says, his breath blowing into my ear.
"Did you brush your teeth?" I turn my head and ask, our faces only inches apart.
"Nope" he says, and blows into my face, which smells like eggs. Gross.
"You're disgusting" I laugh and try to unwrap his arms from around me.
"Dean, we're all going to the Zoo tomorrow, did you want to come?" Nattie pitches. I stop playing with Dean, and stand there surprised. I thought I was going to get to tell Dean about the zoo. Not that it matters, but it was Paige and I's idea, and I'm paying for it.
"Are you going?" Dean asks, I assume he's asking me.
"Yep" I tell him, and try to get the ridiculous feelings towards Nattie out of my head.
"I'll come then. But no fucking spiders" Dean groans, and I laugh.
"Why would you want to fuck a spider?" I laugh as I talk. Nattie and Paige both giggle, and Dean even laughs a little bit. At the exact second, his music hits outside in the arena. He lets go of my waist.
"Just you" he tells me loud enough for Nattie and Paige to hear. I madly blush and push his shoulder lightly, before kissing his cheek and watching him run off towards the curtain, and duck behind it.
I turn back to the group, and Nattie is still watching Dean. I get slightly annoyed, doesn't she have a husband to look at.
I might regret inviting Nattie on the trip tomorrow..
