ROWAN KNEW SHE would get at least a bit of recognition due to her appearance on george's youtube channel; she just didn't expect it to be this much.
before it, she had just over 6k followers. now, she was pushing over 10k—in just three days since recording.
she began getting followed by many of george's friends, all with thousands more followers than her.
she didn't know what to think. she knew she had to be happy, but now it seemed she was being pushed into making videos. her comments were filled with 'when are you going to start a channel?'
the real answer was she didn't know. although she had always dreamed of it, it felt like now she had to do it.
of course, with positive comments come negative ones. she had seen a few, but after a while, decided they were too repetitive to keep reading. many said she wasn't doing enough to be entertaining, but that's just how she was—quiet and laid back.
molly suggested making simple vlogs of her day, but rowan quickly threw that idea away. she just didn't have the entertaining life for that.
soon enough came halloween, which the girls took very seriously.
unfortunately, rowan was working late afternoon and had to stay back long enough—she had to go through different CVs sent by people hoping to get a job at the ivy.
so, there she was, halloween evening, stuck in a small room in the back of the shop, flicking through a sixteen-year-old boy's CV, reading his achievements and work experience, jotting down positives and negatives on a large whiteboard that hung dangerously on the wall.
she decided after a while to take a break and began scrolling on instagram. she sighed softly as she watched the insta reels by her newly found friends, all dressing up for halloween.
she came upon george's post, which featured her best friend, molly. rowan couldn't be prouder when she saw her face at a party. this wasn't her thing, and she was coming out of her comfort zone.
