Faithfully Yours

Chapter 30

Stashing the money in her bag she wore Ebony closed the vault and she got back on the contraption that brought her down to the vault with Violet and the goblin. The goblin nodded to her in silent understanding as they returned to the surface. As they re-entered the lobby of the bank they saw Violet's parents as they waved them over. As they approached Violet's parents they noticed they had smoothies and they offered to buy them one. Hence, they went with them to the smoothie booth that wasn't too far from the bank, then they headed towards their car and returned to Violet's house which was a decent amount of time out of the city into the country side.

Ebony held Violet's hand during the whole ride to the house, even giving the back of her hand kisses as they watched the scenery of the countryside. " You guys are kind of out in the boonies huh?" Ebony asked not really meaning to be rude but just as a statement of observation. Violet nodded and replied " mmhm, been out here my whole life, It's gonna be different when we go to the townhouse." she giggled and lightly said, " I just said we..." She made a cute little happy sound, smiled ear to ear, and kissed Ebony lightly on her lips. I know it's not the kind of thing you are used to being a city girl but it has its charm you will see when the sun goes down and the sky just lights up with stars.

As they pulled up Ebony was surprised to see a two story colonial style house probably built in the 1800's. A little worn for weather but overall respectable and can be seen as a loved house, as it had some house plants hanging in the patio and a green house off to the side of the house. Ebony could hear barking and instantly hid behind Violet. She wasn't really a big fan of dogs, there was a traumatic event that happened when she was younger , but as soon as the door opened a bouncing little Labrador no older than 6 months or so came up to them and Ebony couldn't help but swoon at the playfulness of this little pup.  

Attentively kneeling down she let the pup sniff her and it gave her hand kisses as she gave head pets to them and before long the pup was following her around wanting to play. She asked if she could use their owl to send her bodyguard/ driver the address so they could send some of her things there, she had a stylist back in the city and she contacted them as well to collaborate together and make a style she would like. The joys of being in a connected family she mused quietly to herself as she finished the letters. It was getting around dinner time and Violet's mom started making spaghetti Ebony got pulled into Violet's room at the top of the stairs and to the right, there was a bathroom and another room on the other side. 

The room was cutely decorated and she had hanging plants by the window that looked to the side of the house. She had a full size bed with floral bedsheets and a yellow and black comforter with two fluffy pillows and an old stuffed animal resting by the pillows of the neatly made bed. She took her trunk and set it by the dresser and began putting her dirty clothes in the hamper and put a few knickknacks away. While she did this Ebony took note of the room, it had bright yellow and green vines drawn on in paint behind the bed and floral wallpaper all around the rest of the room. There was a desk by the curtained window that had a stationary set with quill and bottled ink and a lamp that plugged into the wall, a fan that was hooked up on the dresser and the floor was wood with a little carpeted area where her slippers were lined up so all she had to do was sit on the bed and put them on.

"It might take a day or so for your things to get here so I think I have some things you can wear." Violet stated as she rummaged through her dresser now finding her a pair of sweats and a tank top. Ebony excused herself and went into the bathroom that she saw and put on the jammies. The sweatpants were a little short and the tank top showed a little bit of skin as it didn't quite meet the sweatpants waistband. It was better than nothing she thought to herself before leaving the bathroom. Right as she did she heard Violet's mom shout that dinner was ready and they both locked eyes and smiled before descending to the first floor and into the kitchen which the table sat six so there was plenty of room for all of them to sit comfortable.

The table was set and she was surprised not to see a house elf to serve them. As in her house she grew up having one so they all passed the dishes of food around without magic. It was a pleasant surprise that they would do things by hand instead of using magic. Now that they were 18 they could use magic, she even got her score back on her O.W.L. test before she left Hogwarts and rated high in curse breaker. Which being in an all Slytherin background kind of made sense as she was well versed in different curses and the background that went with them. She wasn't sure what Violet wanted to be, but she could see her being a grounds keeper though as she was good at keeping things alive and had a good nature about her but that is something they would have to talk about, which she would probably talk to her privately tonight.
