Dylan Millard (October 9, 2000, Fast Food Diner)
The chime of the bell rang as soon as Dylan entered the diner, meeting his close friends Hiro and Kristine, and this time he was the one to arrive last compared to the usual person, Talia. It has been months since the incidents unfolded. The crimson juveniles have become dormant after setting fire to the mayor's mansion and causing the death of Ms. Bernadette Arthurson, also known as Harmonia.
Dylan sat down as the other three remained somber, with none of them showing interest in the diner's food, only opting for coffee that morning.
"It's been what, three months?" Hiro's body is starting to heal, but there are still obviously scarred burn marks on his hand and on his face.
"Actually, it's been four months," Kristine corrected, always reading a book every morning while sipping her coffee.
"How's the mansion doing so far?" Dylan asked Talia, who was there when Blaze burned down the building.
"It's almost fixed by now; my father took quick action after I destroyed it last June," Talia replied.
Dylan reassured Talia, "You and Hiro did what was necessary during that battle. Don't blame yourself."
"Thank you so much, Dylan. I really appreciate your kind words." Talia smiled at him, though secretly longing for Hiro's affirmation.
Hiro, troubled by a thought, turned to Kristine. "Kristine, can we talk?" he asked.
Kristine closed her book, taking a sip of coffee. "What's on your mind, Hiro?"
"I know you have shared this with everyone you're close with, but I've been thinking about this for a while now," Hiro began, placing both hands on the table, signaling the start of a serious conversation.
"I'm starting to doubt your reasons for visiting the prison. Why would you suddenly visit a criminal out of the blue just to get information about the group?" Hiro's gaze was intense, suspicions creeping in.
"So, you're accusing me of something?" Kristine raised an eyebrow, meeting Hiro's stern look.
"I think we need to calm down here, guys." Dylan looked at them both, anxious they would cause a scene at the diner.
"I just want you to be honest with me, with us," Hiro pleaded, his trust in Kristine wavering due to her actions on the day of the incident.
"You know what's even more suspicious, Hiro? You, Timothy, and Mr. Dead-Eye seem to have a secret agreement of some sort." Kristine's brows furrowed.
"What agreement? What do you mean?" Hiro's confusion was evident.
"Think about it: Dead-Eye randomly called you and Timothy to visit the penitentiary. Why did Timothy accompany you? What's his connection to Rose or your brother's wedding incident? And why did Dead-Eye arrange this visit for you? You and Mr. Arthurson aren't close; he only knows you through your grandfather," Kristine voiced her frustrations.
"I'm envious. I wanted access to the same information level as you. If I knew more about the crimson juveniles, I could assist you," Kristine admitted, her frustrations boiling over.
"You acted impulsively because you envied my level of information?" Hiro grasped the situation.
"Yes, I wish I had gone with you," Kristine regretted.
"I promise you, it was beyond my control. If this happens again, I'll involve you. I'm sorry, Kristine," Hiro apologized.
"I think I'll head to school alone this morning. I won't ignore you in class, but I need time to clear my mind." Kristine excused herself, leaving the diner.
