The people at the farmhouse have been occupied for the past few days. En has been a leg up to everyone as much as she can. But despite everyone's busy schedule, no one has let slip little Posy's birthday in a week. En had been busy as a bee cleaning the garden area where the party will be held at. Sasha's in-charge of buying and preparing all the food together with her mother. And Bian is at the wheel of the decorations. Everybody is thrilled to surprise Posy on her special day soon.
En has been sweating profusely as she carries the last pile of branches in the garden. She managed to eliminate the plank of woods, withered plants and mow the lawn for the past few days.
"Wow, this is spotless! The venue is almost ready!"
Bian cheered looking impressed to how clean the garden is.
"I agree! I never thought you would make such a good gardener."
Sasha responded while carrying a tray with a pitcher and glasses.
"Why don't you take a break and have some refreshment first, En."
En placed the last pile of branches on the wagon and advanced towards the table to join both women for a refreshing drink.
"Well, hardworker, you've done a lot today. You better get a good rest after this."
Sasha uttered as she wipes the sweat off En's face.
En was taken aback by Sasha's action. At the same time, she could sense a tinge of jealousy as Bian caught a sight of what Sasha did.
"I'll check if the sandwiches are ready! I'll be back."
Bian hurriedly walks towards the kitchen.
"You don't need to do that."
En spoke while taking a step back from Sasha.
"I don't mind it. Do you?"
Sasha responded.
"Yes, I actually do."
En said in a commanding voice, giving Sasha a hint to establish boundaries.
Sasha took the hint and responded with a smile.
"My apologies. Here, have a drink. You look exhausted from all the farm work and cleaning today."
En felt worn out being on her feet all day. The cold shower has not alleviated the soreness she feels on her entire body. She headed towards the bed and was about to turn the lamp off when suddenly her phone beeped. A new message from an unfamiliar number comes into view.
The unfamiliar number sent an MMS. As she opened the message, she was surprised to see a photo of her broodily staring on her guide book in front of the stuffed animal vendor.
"It's a convincing product slogan so people won't buy that book anymore. ☺️"
Another message from the unfamiliar number.
En could not resist to laugh as she read the message yet still puzzled who the sender is.
"I couldn't agree more. But may I know who had the courage to take this photo, please?"
En replied to the unfamiliar number.
"It's Alina. I got your number from your Aunt yesterday. I saw her pick your sister up from school and I asked her how are you. I hope you don't mind."
En almost stood up from being laid down in bed upon seeing the message. Her heart raced as she read the name of the sender.
"I don't mind at all. That was a great photo. But you could probably use another model if you'd like to make it a convincing slogan."
En replied with all smiles.
"The thing is, this photo is natural and spontaneous. It captures the real feeling of the subject. And I like it!"
Alina responded.
"Well, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable being a subject of anything for the public. Maybe just keep that photo to yourself?"
En teasingly returning Alina's message.
"You're right. I'm not ready yet to share you to the world."
"I mean my work."
Alina added to her previous message.
The night was already too late yet En had suddenly felt infatigable as they continued exchanging messages.
