Narrator

With Hanni's current state, it wasn't hard to influence her in a certain direction. Y/n found their plan to be a mere eye opener but the possible outcome of turning Hanni against her parents was the biggest reward.

"Did it seem to work?" Sakura asked Y/n during video chat.

"Yup," Y/n shortly responded.

"She looked genuinely scared," Y/n chuckled a little.

"Good. She needs to know the truth. None of this is safe. I just hope she joins us in shutting this all down when she starts to get better," Sakura genuinely felt bad for Hanni's current state.

Sakura did find some pleasure in Hanni's suffering but she understood that Hanni was just another victim. Sakura only found pleasure in it because it was the closest she'd ever get to seeing someone from The U Company suffer.

"I trust that she will. She's suffered enough. She just needs to learn more and get better," Y/n smirked.

"If that doesn't work then we have other safeguards in place," The Doctor looked a little crazy.

Both Sakura and Y/n knew that if their plan didn't work, they could just release pictures and health charts of Pham Hanni to the public.

The public would easily turn on The U Company that way.

But Y/n didn't want to do that...

Their patient had gone through enough.

- Hanni POV -

"She just needs to learn more and get better. If that doesn't work then we have other safeguards in place."

Y/n didn't know I was eavesdropping on their conversations. I knew Y/n could tell I wasn't asleep because of my brain activity, but they couldn't possibly know that I was listening in on their conversation.

Either way, it sounded like Y/n actually had my best interest in mind.

"Can't sleep?" I was suddenly startled.

Y/n had logged into VRU.

"No," I calm down a bit.

"Is there a reason? Is the pain too much? Do you want me to move your body to a more comfortable position?" Y/n had their doctor's voice on.

I hated that sometimes I was still a sucker for that tone.

"No," I coldly responded.

I had learned to sleep through the pain and my body position didn't matter. I had learned to sleep in uncomfortable positions too.

"Okay. Do you want me to give you something to help you sleep?" Y/n asked.

"NO!!" I yelled in fear.

I still didn't trust that Y/n had no intention of killing me. I didn't need them giving me something that could put me to sleep forever.

"Don't worry. It won't put you to sleep forever," Y/n seemed to have read my mind.

"But okay. You're the patient. You have the right to refuse," Y/n exhaled.

"Is there anything else I could do to help you sleep? Sleep is very important for your recovery. It helps reset your brain," The Doctor asked.

Truth was, I had gotten so used to sleeping with Y/n in my private world. It made me feel safe and it was really the only way I could sleep then. I could sleep comfortably that way. But I couldn't do that anymore.
