Narrator

Y/n confessed to Minji what they were doing to Hanni after Minji saved their life.

It was the least Y/n could do.

Y/n explained what their plan was and shared what Hanni's private world was like. Y/n also shared with Minji about the safeguards they had placed if, for whatever reason, things went too far.

Y/n explained that Sakura had codes ready to ensure that Hanni wasn't completely destroyed in the end.

Y/n wanted to hurt the founders, but an innocent life being taken at their expense was not something they could handle.

Y/n knew the depths of their bitter heart and they made sure to put safeguards up.... just in case Y/n took it too far without realizing....

- Minji POV -

I had requested for Y/n to become Hanni's doctor. After what I witnessed at the Pham Estate, it felt like Y/n was better off being Hanni's doctor instead of the idiot currently handling her.

As much as I wish I could've just fired Y/n, I knew how valuable someone like Y/n was for the company.

"Ready?" I asked Y/n in the real world.

Y/n just pressed their chip in...

And they appeared in VRU.

"Hanni?" I questioned when I saw Hanni freeze.

She then abruptly got up from her bed and started to attack Y/n. "FUCK YOU!! HOW COULD YOU?! I FUCKEN TRUSTED YOU!!!" She yelled, as she tried to beat the fuck out of Y/n.

I quickly got up to pull her off Y/n.

"Sorry," Y/n mumbled as they got off the floor.

Having to face Hanni and take care of her in the real world was kind of punishment I had for Y/n. I couldn't let Y/n just roam around as if they hadn't violated company rules and human laws.

"SORRY?!" Hanni was not pleased.

"I'm sorry," Y/n tried to speak up.

You could tell that Y/n felt embarrassed.

"WHY?!" Hanni started hitting Y/n again.

"Calm down!" I pulled her back.

"LET ME GO!!" She started to yell at me.

"CAN I GET A READING?!" I yelled over Hanni as she started to almost get away from me.

"Accelerated heart rate with activity in the amygdala. In server it is normal, but in RL her body has some fasciculations!" Y/n sounded like a soldier.

Hanni suddenly stopped.

- Y/N POV -

"Get this bastard out of here," Miss Pham told Miss Kim.

"Y/n is just trying to-"

"If you love me, you will get this fraud out of here," Hanni glared at Minji.

"Okay," Miss Kim sighed.

I took my chip off out of respect and started to pack my things.

I felt like I wasn't even real anymore.

Everything around me was like a simulation... I was wishing I could make it all stop...

I really wanted to just end it all...

But Miss Kim had me under surveillance.

After she got me down from the ceiling, Miss Kim forced me to sleep at her place and she forced me to accept the job of Miss Pham's Reintegration Doctor.

I really didn't understand how she could even trust me after everything that happened, but she insisted.

"Where are you going?" Miss Kim suddenly took her headset off.

"She asked for me to leave," I coldly answered.

"Look, I don't understand what you're trying to do but I would rather be fired than have to take care of Miss Pham," I sighed out.

I couldn't trust myself around Miss Pham. She was in desperate need of appropriate help, but I wasn't sure I was the right option.

"I am trying to keep the person I've ever loved the most alive. While I don't trust you, I can see that you're good at being a doctor and if you're what's going to save her then I don't care. I'll take the risk of you killing her willingly than someone who is 'trying to help' killing her unknowingly," Miss Kim was an inch away from my face.

"At least with you... I know you did everything you could to save her...," Minji huffed.

"How could you possibly know that? What makes you think I'm the best for that?" I didn't get her.

"I read Hanni's private world transcript. I know you were the reason she's still alive. You may have been driving her crazy, but you never let her die. No one who makes an entire in serves health plan is too bad of a person in my eyes," Miss Kim looked me in the eyes, before walking out of my office.
