"Oh, Y/n-ssi!" Ms. Kim seems to be in the building.

Y/n gave her a quick bow and continued on their way to their executive meeting.

The U Company was having meetings about maximum profits inside of VRU. Y/n was just an honorary member because of their work with Hanni... but they were essential to the team in regard to psychological work...

- Minji POV -

"Profits are at its max," Our CFO told us.

"If we keep going in this direction then we'll double our revenue from last year," She seemed excited.

Hanni's parents were almost drooling at the news, but I could see that Y/n had their typical angry look on.

"What do you think, Y/n-ssi?" I chose to speak up.

Y/n was often overlooked in our meetings. They were quiet and often showed animosity toward the whole VRU concept but that was normal.

What was really important was Y/n's knowledge as a reintegration doctor. They're psychological analysis.

"I think it's great," Y/n didn't sound as confident as they always did.

"How so?" I questioned.

I always found it odd that Hanni's parents would appoint someone so bitter and old-fashioned to manage Hanni's private world. It wasn't so much that I didn't trust the founders' choice...

It's that I didn't trust Y/n.

"Well, patterns show that it's what VRU users are enjoying. I don't see how profit couldn't be made off that," Y/n answered a bit condescendingly.

"You're for exploiting people's pain?" I furrowed my brows in confusion.

Our CFO and CTO had shared the current trend inside of VRU. People were allowing their trauma to create private worlds inside of the system.

While some people were using it as a healthy way to take control of their trauma... others were going deeper into the despairs of their hidden feelings...

"I mean," Y/n seemed offended.

Usually, Y/n wasn't for hurting people or making a profit off of their trauma...

"I'm just saying it's a trend in the servers right now. It's a coping mechanism that obviously needs to be managed, but it's beneficial for users. It serves as an outlet for a lot of users to let out their most painful memories and it allows for them to heal," Y/n looked at me like I was stupid.

The current trend of VRU users was to release their trauma and become emotional messes was just a bit much if we were all being honest.

The emotional mess caused a lack of control over their feelings... and also... their wallets...

Ice cream, dinosaur plushies, and fuzzy blankets were flying off the walls inside of VRU.

If this was what normal users were doing, then I could only imagine how Hanni was doing.

"It seems cruel," I tighten my jaw.

"Well, this is what the world has become Miss Kim," Y/n coldly looked me straight in the eyes.

- Y/N POV -

I almost wanted to laugh at Minji's pathetic attempt to show concern over VRU users. Neither Minji nor Any decision maker at VRU cared about anything more than making money.
