Narrator

"Millions of people around the world have involuntarily re-uploaded into VRU due to the worldwide power outage that happened last night. This left millions of people comatose.

The U company is currently working to stabilize its servers to allow for everyone to get out. Meanwhile, the government is debating on whether the platform should shut down or made more secure to avoid another tragedy like this.

Tune into to News at 10 for more details on the developing story."

The Pham's, Minji, and Sakura had been keeping up with news on the current state of the VRU platform since Y/n and Hanni lost consciousness the night before.

- Hanni POV -

"AARGGHH!!" Y/n was banging on their neck to try to get the VRU chip to turn off.

"Y/n, stop!" I tried to get a hold of Y/n's hand before they got hurt.

"We don't know what will happen if you break it. Stop!" I yelled in frustration.

Y/n gave me a cold glare and exhaled deeply. This was Y/n's worst nightmare. This was one of the reasons Y/n absolutely hated virtual reality. This is why Y/n became a reintegration doctor...

But now, Y/n was stuck in the very same program they had tried so hard to stay away from.

"Welcome to New-News at 10-10-10!" The TV started glitching again.

Nothing in VRU was stable right now and it was bleeding through my sector. Luckily, Sakura had built my sector pretty well and it was running on a separate server from the governments, but it was still very worrying to see everything glitching.

The plants and decorations all around the house kept disappearing and reappearing in random places. The TV kept getting distorted and it made it hard to watch the news. It was just one of the few things that made me see just how dangerous the whole VRU concept was.

Before, during my treatment, I didn't really understand its full danger. I just knew it was bad for me and I needed to get out before it was too late, but now I understand why my friends weren't fans of the platform.

"Basically, No- inside VRU can get in- can get out," The news anchor tried to explain through the glitchy TV.

"Oowwww!" I suddenly started to feel a sharp pain in my legs.

"Y/n," I groaned out in pain.

- Y/N POV -

I had been so busy trying to figure out how to get the hell out of VRU that I had forgotten about my Doctor duties.

"Y/n!" Hanni suddenly yelled.

I looked over at her and my heart sank to my stomach.

"Oh, shit!" I whispered under my breath as I saw Hanni's legs struggling to hold her barely existing weight.

I put down the TV remote in my hands and quickly walked over to pick Hanni up in my arms.

I had completely forgotten that Hanni's sector was last set to simulate the real world as much as possible. VRU couldn't compensate for the pain she felt for those few minutes of power outage.

"It hurts?" I asked a bit worried.

"Yeah," Hanni responded with a shaky voice.
