mem-cho and yuki were teasing aqua relentlessly. suddenly aqua did something kotori wasn't expecting. he blushed.
"i told you... seriously just stop..." he covered his red face.
"whoa. that reaction..." yuki mumbled. "he's for real."
kotori's frown deepened. she took a sharp breath before walking out of the room. aqua was the only one who noticed her. he quickly followed after her.
"you seem upset," aqua bluntly states, standing across from her.
kotori leaned against the wall. she looks at him, "...i'm not upset." they were the only ones in the hallway.
"you look pretty upset to me," said aqua.
"i'm not," she scoffed. she crossed her arms, her eyes darkening. "that girl... how did she do it? imitate ai?"
aqua just shrugged.
"...do you like her?" kotori suddenly asked.
aqua paused, not responding for a second. "...no, i don't," he said.
the girl hummed lowly in response.
"why'd you get so upset?" he then asked her.
"i'm not upset!" she exclaimed. he was a little shocked by her tone, as she was usually calm. she breathed out harshly. "i'm... fine."
aqua doesn't seem convinced but drops the subject.
"what are you gonna do then?" kotori questions.
"what do you mean?"
"akane... they're gonna expect you to pursue her," kotori said, almost bitterly. "are you gonna do it?"
he was quiet for a moment.
"...i don't know."
