"i've decided to go out with akane for real," were the dreaded words kotori expected aqua to say.
she wanted to scream. she wanted to yell at him. for focusing on something as silly as a relationship instead of revenge. but, though she didn't want to admit it, she wanted to scream at him for picking akane instead of her.
but she didn't do any of those things. she was dead silent. her chest was hurting, her heart felt like it was gonna explode.
"...i see," she finally spoke.
"is something wrong?" aqua questions.
"no, no..." she faked a smile. "i'm happy for you, i really am..."
the blonde didn't seem convinced but he decides not to press on the subject. he nods his head slightly, "well, i better go. i have a date." he then walks away.
kotori watched as he leaves. she wanted to pull him back, tell him what she truly wanted to say. but she left him be. after all, he seemed happy with akane. right?
aqua looked over his shoulder and their eyes met. he wanted to say "i'm sorry" but he just couldn't. kotori was better off without him. right?
