I was about to get out of my car, but a loud noise at my window made me jump. I saw two hands pressed against the glass.

The person took off their glasses and raised slightly their hat.

"Is it a bad time?" Billie asked thought the phone.
"Do I look that bad?" I pouted and she giggled shaking her head.
She's totally lying, there's no way I don't look like a mess.
I'm in my old, dye-stained shirt, and my hair is greasy and dirty.
"Have you really been dyeing your hair by yourself all this time?" she asked, adjusting her position on the outdoor chair to avoid the sunlight.
"Yeah, why pay for something I can do myself?" I shrugged, slipping on a pair of latex gloves.
Billie's been swamped with meetings, which is why we haven't been spending so much time together lately, and it's probably better for our relationship too. Of course it's important to spend time with your partner, but sometimes not having these spaces to be on your own can be draining.
"Show me how you do it" she laughed.
"Don't laugh" I replied, giggling "okay, so" I grabbed the dye box, opened it, and showed her the components.
"You take this plastic shit and pour everything in here" I laughed as I did just that, mixing the dye and developer until it was well combined.
"Now" I sectioned off my hair, leaving a part of it out and tying the rest up "just grab it and apply it to your hair" I laughed again as I started spreading the dye through my strands.
"Unbelievable" she said smiling and shaking her head. Her attention shifted from the camera for a moment before she spoke again "I've gotta go, pretty, but I'll see you later" she gave me a smile, and we said our goodbyes blowing kisses before she hung up.
