Disclaimer: Cursing
Bryce groaned as he tossed and turned in bed, trying to find a good spot, or position that was comfortable, hopefully to help him finally fall asleep. But unfortunately, it didn't seem to work. Bryce glanced over at the alarm clock, the green numbers glowing in the dark room, it simply read 1:37 AM. He grimaced, of course it was already getting late, and he still couldn't find a wink of sleep. This was getting ridiculous, he had to go to work tomorrow for god's sake. This wasn't anything new, Bryce had been dealing with this issue for a long time now, especially at his old apartment. God, he hated his insomnia, it felt like there always had to be one thing about him that would give him struggles. Besides, there are times when Bryce doesn't break his sleep schedule, and let he still can't find himself falling asleep for hours.
Gritting his teeth, he turned around, glancing at his husband, a few feet away from him, who was sleeping soundly. Bryce envied Liam, it must be so great to be able to fall asleep when you want to. Liam's face was a bit buried in the pillow, his arm wrapped around it as well. "Damn it, love...how do you do this..", he muttered. Liam simply moved his face a bit into the pillow, before laying still once more. Bryce listened to his partner's soft snoring, hoping it would at least give him a sliver of assistance of falling asleep. Minutes pass and...well, nothing. Sitting up, Bryce moved so his legs were now hanging down the side of the bed, he brought his hands to his face, rubbing his eyes. "For fuck's sake..", he hissed, getting out and walking to the bathroom. Fumbling around for the light switch, he cursed in his head until he finally found it, the brightness stinging his eyes. He uttered a groan as he squeezed his eyes shut, bringing a hand up to his temple. When his eyes could adjust more, he made his way to the mirror, now seeing the small bags visible under his eyes.
He didn't look awful, but the sight of the bags made him want to punch the mirror in anger. He was so tired, and yet his mind just wouldn't let him sleep for some reason. 'What the hell do you want, sleep or staying up?! Make up your damn mine!', he thought angrily, his hands clenched at his head, before looking in the mirror again. What was he doing? He sounded stupid right now. Glancing at the toilet, he decided maybe using it would sort of help. After all, it worked a few times. After that, he turned the lights off, going back to bed. Flopping back down with a sigh, Bryce stared up at the ceiling, watching as the it seemed to move around a bit, almost appearing a bit fuzzy. Turning one side, now facing the window, he could see a sliver of the outside, the sky still black, but several buildings lights in the windows were still on. It always felt like one night, not everyone in the city was asleep, there were always some who stay up. Which was not what he was trying to do, of course. Bryce closed his eyes, pushing his face into the pillow.
Two minutes....five minutes...fifteen minutes passed, and so far, no sign of sleep. Gritting his teeth, Bryce shot up, digging his fingers into his hair, groaning with anger. "How the hell am I still here awake?!", he cried, before realizing that outburst was a bit too loud, immediately looking over at Liam, when he saw slight movement from the corner of his eye. A small noise emitted from him, as Liam's eyes opened slowly, glancing over him. 'Oh shit, now I woke him up. Just fucking great..', Bryce thought angrily to himself, putting his face in his hands. "Bryce..?", he heard the quiet voice of his partner, as well as the shifting of the blankets. He grimaced as he watched Liam shuffle a bit to sit up, looking over at him with tired eyes. "Honey...what are you still doing up..?", he asked, before his mouth gaped open with a yawn. "Honestly, I'm asking myself the same thing..", Bryce muttered. "Huh?" He shook his head, looking Liam in the eyes. "Sorry..I didn't mean to wake you up..just..go back to sleep, love.", he sighed. Liam looked at him, a bit unconvinced. "What about you? You..is the insomnia causing problems again?", he asked, scooting closer. Bryce glanced away, frowning. "Ugh..yeah." "How long have you been trying to fall asleep?" "Since when you fell asleep.." Liam gasped. "Bryce! That was like, what, four hours ago!", he cried, glancing at the alarm clock. "Love, why didn't you say anything?" He could see the concern in Liam's eyes, making him suck in his breath. "I..didn't want to bother you, I guess..", he admitted, resting one of his cheeks against his hand.
"But you don't bother me..", Liam said, placing a hand on Bryce's shoulder. "If you're having trouble sleeping, just tell me." Bryce looked into Liam's eyes once more, nodding. "Okay then..so..what now?" Liam scooted even closer, wrapping his arms around him. "Just let me take care of your problem.", he whispered, laying Bryce back down on the bed, Liam was now directly on his chest area. Bryce said nothing, he just relaxed, letting Liam work his magic. Liam got himself more comfy, before tightly hugging his partner. He closed his eyes, and Bryce soon followed. This was what Liam did every time Bryce had trouble sleeping. He didn't know why, but feeling the weight of Liam's body on him actually felt kinda nice. The heaviness sort of helped his body relax, plus he soon hearing the soft breathing of his partner, smiling as he felt the sleep starting to take over.
In a few minutes, they both were now fast asleep. Liam's magic was once again successful.
