Venomous Love

Chapter 1

Do you ever wish you were a completely different person sometimes. Like you could change lives with anyone. Cause for me, Jessica (Jess) Kent, I always wish for this. I sometimes just need to get out of this confusing thing called life. My best friend/ adopted brother, Clark Kent, is the sweetest guy you could ever meet. But you don't wanna get on his bad side. I was adopted and so was he. He's one year older than me. He's a super human. And being his accomplice it's extra dangerous. I'm the target of the bullets. I'm constantly being hunted down because I know his secret. But I stick by him anyways. Because that's what friends are for. At the end of my senior year at Smallville High I had a fight with Lex Luthor. One of my closest friends besides Clark. I told him I was going to Paris and he told me I couldn't go. That it would be too dangerous. I went anyways and I haven't talked to him since our fight. Everytime someone mentions him I cringe. Now I'm out of school and I'm back in Smallville.

I get up the next morning and walk downstairs. I see Clark sitting at the counter. "Morning", Martha (Kent) and Jonathan (Kent) greet.

"Morning", I greet back. I sit next to Clark and run a hand through my hair. Clark pulls me into a tight side hug and messes up my hair. I pull away and glare at him. "Really", I say.

"Really", Clark laughs. I punch him in the arm and mess up his hair. I laugh deviously and run upstairs. I shut my door and go to my bathroom. I shower, curl my brown hair that has blonde highlights, and do my natural makeup. I slip on a black sheer lacy top, black blazer, black skinny jeans, and black boots with heels. I grab my black and white messenger bag. I slip my glass white IPhone 5s in my back pocket. I go back downstairs and see Clark getting up to go to The Talon (a coffee shop that used to be a movie theater.)

"Come on I'm driving. And I don't care if you can run to The Talon with your super speed", I smile. Martha and Jonathan raise there eyebrows. I roll my eyes and we leave the house. I get in my car and Clark gets in to. I drive to The Talon.

"You look... nice", Clark says.

"Wow that's the nicest thing you've said to me", I tease. Clark rolls his eyes and I park my car. We get out and I see Lex walking up to us. I walk past him and Lex pulls me back. "Lex save it I really gotta go. I told Chloe (Sullivan) I would be in The Talon before ten", I snap. He let's go of me and I walk inside The Talon. I walk over to her at the counter. "Hi Chloe", I greet with a smile. "Miss me", I ask. I set down my stuff at the counter.

"Uh.. yeah.. duh... and wow you look very... different", Chloe says looking at me. She pull me in a tight hug.

"Chloe I am 21 years old. Of course I look different", I smile.

"I would say mature is a better word", Clark chimes in. I glance behind me and see him walking in. I roll my eyes and look at her laptop which is sitting at the counter.

"Ah ah ah. No snooping. I want it to be a surprise", Chloe says taking it away. I roll my eyes and grab my stuff.

"You know Lex really wanted to talk to you", Clark says.

"Maybe I'm not ready to talk to him", I reply. I walk outside to just walk around. Refresh my memory about what there is to do in Smallville.

*After an hour*

I walk back to my car and my cell goes off. I pull it out of my back pocket and look at the caller ID. It's Lex I ignore his call and stick my phone in my back pocket again. I see Lana (Lang) and walk over to her. "Hi Lana", I greet.

"Oh hi. It's so good to see you", Lana smiles pulling me into a hug. "Look I would love to catch up but I really gotta go. I need to go to The Talon and do some paperwork", Lana says sadly.
"Oh okay it's fine. I'll talk to you later", I smile.

"Bye", Lana waves.

"Bye", I wave back. Chloe and Clark walk over to me.

"Hi guys", I smile.

"Hey", they say at different times.

"Lana seemed in a hurry", Chloe says.

"She had some Talon paperwork to do", I reply.

"Oh", Chloe says.

"Come on let's go to inside The Talon", Clark says to us.

"Okay", we say in unison.

"Okay that was weird", Chloe says.

"Agreed", I laugh. We go inside and sit down in our normal spot.

"So why don't you tell us about Paris", Chloe suggests. I nod and start talking about all the thing I did in Paris. And all the things I saw. I hear the door to The Talon open and it catches my attention so I look up. I see Lex walking in and over to us. I look back at my them ignoring Lex.

"Can I talk to you", Lex asks.

"Lex... I'm a little busy at the moment", I reply.

"Please", Lex says.

"Fine", I say getting up. "I'll be right back", I say to them. They nod and I will outside with Lex.

"Look I really need to talk to you", Lex says.

"Hmm. That's funny cause the last time we talked you said you never wanted to see me again", I reply.

"I know and that was a mistake. Please come by the mansion and we'll talk. Just give me a chance", Lex says sadly.

"Fine but this is your last chance to prove yourself to me. Prove that you're not that asshole that I talked to before I went to Paris", I reply. I walk back inside and sit down.

*After about two hours*

"I better be heading to Lex's mansion", I say to everyone. I wave goodbye and walk out the door. I get in my car and drive to his mansion. I grab my phone, my keys, and my purse. I slip my phone in my back pocket and walk inside. I walk up to the main room door. I knock shakily and I hear footsteps getting closer. The door opens and I look up to see Lex standing in front of me smiling.

"Come on in", Lex says. I walk in and he shuts the door behind me. "Drink", Lex asks coming up from behind me.

"No thanks", I say nevously. Lex pours himself a drink and we sit down.

"Look I'm really sorry about what I said before you went to Paris. I was way out of line. And I shouldn't have tried to stop you from going to Paris. Obviously it did you good", Lex says.

"Lex... it's fine. But why were you so upset about me leaving", I ask.

"I knew I was gonna miss you. And I didn't wanna not be able to see you", Lex replies. I let out a small laugh and look into his eyes.

"Well I'm back now. For another year. You can stop by the farm anytime", I smile.

"Good", Lex says. I stand up and so does he. He pulls me in a tight hug and lets go. I leave and get in my car. I drive back to the farm and go inside. I see Martha setting food on the table.

"You and Lex friends again", Clark asks.

"Yeah its his last chance to prove to himself", I reply. I sit down and Jonathan looks at me.

"I think you deserve better. You're an amazing girl", Jonathan says.

"Thank you. At least someone appreciates me", I smile. I eat my dinner and go back upstairs. I take off my makeup and switch into a tank top and yoga shorts. I set my phone on my side table and get into bed. I end up falling asleep in seconds.
