Venomous Love

Chapter 8

I get up the next morning. I walk into my bathroom. I shower, straighten my hair, and do my makeup (silver eyeshadow, black mascara, black eyeliner, and dark pink lipstick.) I slip on a dark blue fitted sheer top, black skinny jeans and sparkly dark blue ballet slippers. I slip on a jacket and grab my phone and my keys. I walk downstairs and look around. I open the door to see The Daily Planet Paper. And on the front page is... me. I pick it up and set it on the table. I don't see anyone so I sneak out. I get in my car and drive to Lex's mansion. I get out and go inside his house. I knock on his door and Lex opens it. "Oh hi Jess", Lex says.

"We have to talk", I say.

"Are you okay? You seem tense", Lex asks.

"Actually no I'm not. I have been anticipating this moment. Lex.... I've fallen in love with someone else", I say.

"What", Lex exclaims.

"I'm so sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt you. It just kinda happened", I sigh trying to touch his shoulder. Lex moves out of the way so my hand just touches the air. "Lex... I", I start to say.

"Don't. I gave you everything. I loved you", Lex says looking at me. I see how much anger and tears are filling up in his eyes. I look away and turn away from him.

"I'm gonna go", I say sadly. I walk out the door and hear him start crying. I peak in and see Lex on his knees crying. I've never seen him so upset. I walk out to my car and a tear rolls down my cheek. I get in and drive to The Talon. I clean myself up and walk in acting normal. I sit at the counter and run a hand through my hair. Lana looks at me and I may not have cleaned myself up good enough.

"You okay? You look like you've been crying", Lana asks.

"I... um... I broke up with Lex. Told him I fell in love with someone else", I sigh.

"I'm so sorry. How'd he take it", Lana asks.

"Really bad. I've never seen him so upset. I broke his heart", I say.

"Don't beat yourself up... you can't help your feelings", Lana says.

"Yeah... you're right I just feel so bad", I sigh. Lana pats my back and hands me a latte to go. I get up and leave with my coffee. I see Oliver walking up to me.

"Hi Jess. You okay", Oliver asks.

"I broke up with Lex. And it broke his heart. I've never seen him so hurt so... broken", I sigh. Oliver leans down and kisses me passionately.

"So this is the guy you fell in love with", I hear Lex say. I pull away and look at Lex.

"Lex I", I start to say.

"Don't. You fell in love with the guy I I'm rivals with. How could you", Lex exclaims.

"I didn't know it was gonna happen. I'm so sorry", I sigh. Lex rolls his eyes and walks away. I watch him walk away. I look away and look back at Oliver. "I'm sorry you had to see that", I sigh.

"It's okay", Oliver says. He takes my hand and we get in my car. We drive to his penthouse and go inside. I set my phone down along with my keys. I take off my jacket and set it down. I slip off my shoes and Oliver hugs me from behind. I touch his hands and his lips touch the side of my neck. I giggle and turn around with a smile on my face. Oliver leans down and closes the gap between us. Our lips move in sync and Oliver slips off his shirt and his shoes. He picks me up and lies me on his couch. His lips crash against mine. My hands touch the back of his head. I pull his body against my own. Oliver slips off my shirt and throws it on the ground. I hear my phone go off. I get up with Oliver still kissing my neck.
