Venomous Love

Chapter 3

I get up the next morning and go to my bathroom. I shower, straighten my hair, and do my natural makeup. I slip on a black lace tank top, naturally ripped blue jeans, and black lace ballet slippers. I put my sunglasses on my head. I grab my phone and my keys and head downstairs.

"I'll be back", I say to them.

"Okay", Martha says. I shut the door behind me and get in my car. I drive to The Talon. I go in and see Lana.

"Hey Lana I'll take my usual", I say.

"You got it", Lana smiles. I sit at the counter and feel someone's arms wrap around my waist. I touch the hands of the person. Lex kisses my neck and sits next to me. Lana sets my coffee down.

"Thanks Lana", I say.

"Your welcome. Hi Lex", Lana says.

"Hi Lana", Lex smiles back. I see Chloe and Lois walk in.

"Hi girls", I say to them.

"Hi", they reply back to me. They sit on the other side of me and order a coffee.

"I'm going to The Daily Planet for a little interview. Do you wanna come and wait for me. Then we can eat afterwards", Chloe asks me.

"I would love to", I smile.

"Great", Chloe says happily. I get up and kiss Lex goodbye. Me and Chloe get in our own cars and drive to the Metropolis. I park my car and so does Chloe. Chloe walks in and I stay in my car.

*After about thirty minutes*

Chloe walks out and gets in my car.

"So how'd it go", I ask her.

"Okay I guess", Chloe says.

"Well I think you'll get in. Let's go out to eat", I say. She nods and we start to walk to a restaurant. I glance behind me and two guy's are following us. I poke her and make a gesture behind us. She sees the guy's and we speed up. But so do they. They catch up to us and I feel a bullet hit my shoulder and I cringe in pain but continue running. Another bullet hits my leg and I collapse in pain. "Run", I yell to Chloe. She runs and one guy picks me up.

"You are a smart little girl", he whispers. I shift uncomfortably and they drag me along.

"Where's the other girl", the other guy asks. He shrugs his shoulder and I hear footsteps.

"I heard your looking for me", Chloe says. They turn around and I see Chloe and Clark standing across from us. They smirk and shove me on my knees. He puts a gun to my head and a tear rolls down my cheek.

"If you come any closer I will pull the trigger", He warns. Clark runs up to the gun with his super speed and takes it from his hand. Clark runs back and the guy looks at him confused. I punch the guy's where it counts and pull out of their grip. I run over to them. I collapse in pain and Chloe kneels down next to me. Clark takes him down and we call the police. The peremedics put me on a table and push me into the ambulance. Martha, Jonathan, and Clark get in and they keep me awake. Clark looks out the window at the guy's getting arrested.

*At the hospital*

I wake up and look around. I sit up and feel my shoulder start to hurt. "Careful they just took a bullet out of your shoulder and your leg. It was centimeters away from our heart", Chloe says. I ease up a little bit since a heard a familiar voice.

"Chloe", I start to say.

"Shh. I'm here", Chloe says. I cringe in pain and set up all the way. I look out the window and see Clark and Lex talking. I also see Lana and Lois outside. Along with Martha and Jonathan. Lex looks at me and I see a few tears stained on his cheek. Chloe looks at Lex and back at me. "I've got to go but you get better", Chloe says. I nod and she leaves. Lex says a few words to them and walks in my room. He shuts the door behind him and walks over to me.

"Hey", Lex says.

"Hi", I smile.

"How are you feeling", Lex asks.

"I feel a hell of a lot better", I laugh. Lex laughs along and looks at me.

"I came as soon as I heard. I'm sorry", Lex sighs.

"It wasn't your fault", I say.

"Yes it was. Those guy's work for me. I told them to leave you alone. But they didn't", Lex confesses.

"What?! Why", I exclaim.

"I was investigating the Kawachi Caves. They were researchers and they said you had something big to do with them", Lex explains. "I'm so sorry", Lex says.

"I can't believe you. Clark told me you had dropped it. And now look what happened", I say angrily.

"I know. But my curiosity got the best of me. Please... I'm so so sorry", Lex pleads.

"I think you should go", I say looking away.

"But-", Lex starts.

"Please", I say looking at him. Lex nods and leaves. I see him talk to Clark before walking away. Clark, Lana, and Lois walk in.

"Hey. How are you", Lana asks.

"Better", I reply with a smile. She nods and Clark looks at me. "Guy's can you give us a minute alone", I say to them.
"Okay but only a minute. I'll be counting", Lois teases. I roll my eyes playfully and they leave. Clark sits down uneasily and I look at him.

"Clark I'm okay", I smile.

"If I only had been there a second before you never would've been shot in the first place", Clark says.

"Clark... stop. Lex told me that those guy's were researching the Kawachi Caves. They thought I had something big to do with them. But they got the wrong Kent. He told them to leave me out of it but they didn't listen", I sigh.

"What", Clark exclaims glancing at the door.

"Don't. I'm fine now and that's all that matters", I say to him. Clark pulls me into a tight hug before leaving. I lie down and end up falling asleep.
