Chapter 19

I get up the next morning and go to my bathroom. I take off my clothes and shower. I get out and blow my hair dry. I straighten it and do my makeup (purple and silver eyeshadow, black mascara, no eyeliner, and pink lipstick.) I slip on a pink sheer top, white skinny jeans, a gray jacket, and white boots. I go downstairs a little hesitant. I see Clark talking with our parents. "Can I talk to you guy's", I ask.

"Sure sweetie. Is everything okay", Martha asks.

"I have something I need to tell you", I say. "I've been super nervous about telling you. But it's something I didn't just decide. I've been thinking about it for a long time. Since Lana moved out of The Talon. It's been for rent. So since I've been working and saving all my money. Plus I got money for my birthday and saved it. I decided that I wanted to rent the apartment", I say.

"Really? What made you decide this", Jonathan asks.

"I'm 22 and still living with my parents. I would like to branch out and find a place of my own. And what better place then The Talon. I work there and all my friends hang out there. And I'll still visit a lot", I say.

"I think it's a great idea", Clark says.

"So do I. Jonathan she is 22. She deserves to move out", Martha says. "We all fully support you", Martha says.

"Thank you so much. I didn't want to make a hasty decision without your support", I say hugging each of them. I leave with my purse and head to The Talon. I walk in and see Lex.

"Lex I need to talk to you", I say walking in.

"Okay. What's up", Lex asks.

"I want to rent the apartment upstairs", I say.

"You do", Lex asks sounding surprised.

"Yes. I talked to Clark and our parents and they support me. But I'm 22 and need to move out", I say.

"Okay. I'll need you to fill out some paperwork and it's all yours", Lex smiles.

"Thank you so much", I say. I kiss his cheek and take the paperwork from him. I sit down and fill it out. I give it to him with the money.

"You have all the money already", Lex says.

"Yeah. I didn't want to rent it unless I had all the money. And didn't owe you any money", I say. Lex takes the money and paperwork. We shake hands and I smile. I head back to the farm and go upstairs. I see all my stuff packed in boxes and my suitcases packed. Clark comes in after me and I look at him. "Thanks for packing my bags", I say. He pickes up some of my bags and take them to my car. Everyone comes outside and hugs me goodbye. Me and Clark get in my car and drive back to The Talon. I get out and drag my stuff upstairs while Clark helps. After everything's upstairs I hug Clark and he leaves. I set up my stuff and unpack.

*Four hours later*

After unpacking and organizing everything I look around. Home sweet home is all I can say. I set my phone and keys on my table. I hear a knock on my door so I open it. I see Chloe with a planet. "Hi Chloe. What's this for", I ask taking it from her and setting it down. She walks in and looks around.

"Just a house warming gift", Chloe replies. "How long did it take you to u pack everything and organize it", Chloe asks.

"Around four hours", I reply.

"Damn", Chloe says. I let out a small laugh and she opens the door. "I'm on the clock for The Daily Planet. But I'm on my break and I got to go. Bye", Chloe says.

"Bye", I reply. I shut my door and sit down. I leave my room and go downstairs with my purse. I fix myself a coffee and leave. I walk around town a little bit looking at all the stores looking for items for my house.

*An hour later*

I walk back to my apartment with a few things. I walk upstairs and open my door. I turn on the light and close the door. I see Lex sitting on my couch. "What are you doing here", I ask.

"I came by and no one was home", Lex replies getting up and walking over to me. He has black button up shirt on and a few buttons are unbuttoned.

"So you let yourself in", I say.

"My bad", Lex says taking my bags from me and setting them on the counter. I set down my purse and look at him.

"What's going on", I ask.

"Just wanted to see how you were settling in", Lex replies.

"Okay", I say. I slip off my jacket and set it down. Lex runs his hands over my arms.

"God I've never noticed how gorgeous you are", Lex says touching my cheek lightly. His hand trails down to my waist. He grips my waist and pulls my body against his own body. He tucks some of my hair behind my ear.

"Lex what are you doing", I ask a little uneasy. Lex doesn't reply but he does close the gap between us. His lips touch mine and I pull away.

"What's wrong", Lex asks with a smirk. I smack him across the face. "I like them feisty", Lex smirks.

"Who the hell do you think you are", I snap.

"Lex Luther of course", Lex replies.

"The Lex I know wouldn't have done that", I hiss.

"Jess you could live like a queen next to me. Or you could be thrown out with the rest of the trash. When you're ready to accept my love I'll be waiting", Lex says. He kisses my cheek and leaves. A tear rolls down my cheek and I lock the door. I slide down the door tears rolling down my cheeks. There's a knock at my door so I peak out. Clarks standing there. I open the door and he comes in.

"What's going on", I ask.

"Was Lex here", Clark asks.

"Yeah and he expressed certain feelings for me", I reply.

"Look that wasn't Lex. Okay it was but only a part of him. Lex was experimenting with black Kryptonite and split his personality into two. The one you were talking to was the bad part of Lex. If he comes back. Stall him and call me. Lex is dangerous right now", Clark says. I nod and he leaves. I shut my door and turn around.

"So I see you don't trust me", Lex says. I back away and Lex grabs my wrist roughly.

*At the mansion*

Lex throws me onto the floor roughly. I look at him and he looks angry. "I offered everything to you and you just threw it away", Lex yells. I get up and he looks at right into my eyes. Lex smacks me and drags me to a place where I didn't know existed in the mansion. He throws me downstairs and I hit every step. He slams the door and I get up every inch of me hurting. I stumble a little when I get up. I collapse again and drag myself over to a wall. I hear another groan so I look around. I get up and follow the sound. I see a guy in an iron mask lying on the ground tied up. I walk over to the person and unlock the iron mask. To see... Lex tied up sweating and bloody.

"Oh my god, Lex", I exclaim. I untie him and he looks at me.

"Get out. He'll... I'll hurt you", Lex says.

"I'm not leaving you", I reply.

"Run", Lex says. I feel someone hit me in the back of my head with a gun. I hit the ground and get back up. I see Clark run in I grab bad Lex's hand and he struggles to get free. Clark uses his heat vision to turn the green Kryptonite ring into black Kryptonite. Bad Lex and good Lex touch and I watch as they come together. The blase of energy that comes off them blasts me across the room. The next think I know I'm in Clarks arms. Clark sets me down and I look at Lex who's on the ground. I run over to him and kneel down. He wakes up and looks at me.

"You okay", I ask.

"Fine. What happened", Lex asks. I look at Clark and we help him up.

*At The Talon*

I hand Clark the key and he unlocks The Talon. I limp in and he locks it back. He hands me the key and I stick it in my back pocket. He picks me up and leads me upstairs since my while body's sore. He sets me on my couch and hugs me goodbye. He leaves and I brush my hair and switch into a tank top and yoga shorts. I grab a blanket and lie on my couch. I fall asleep even though I didn't plan on sleeping on the couch.
