CAPITOL AND DISTRICT, tribute and mentor, rich and poor. They were as different as they could be. So why did they stare at each with such fondness, even after so many years?

How many years was it? Probably sixty, maybe even more.

For all those years they lived a calm and rather uneventful life but it was a good life, one that lacked regrets.

Maybe they weren't Treech Evans and Cassia Xander anymore but they still were the same two teens who fell in love when they shouldn't have and sacrificed everything for each other.

They never really had kids, only nieces and nephews and that was more than enough. The blonde girl wasn't sure if she'd be able to see her own kid leave her like her little Willow did.

No matter how well hidden they were, that fear always plagued her mind.

The lake was calm as she took her last breath. It was another quiet dawn.

They sat by the wooden table on the porch of their little cabin, that same cabin that once was destroyed and abandoned. It looked way better now, thanks to the curly-haired boy.

The warm breeze caressed their faces as they stared at the morning sky. The birds around them hummed a beautiful song but neither of them really listened. One was gone and the other was too busy trying to unsuccessfully wake them.

Not long after, the boy joined her. A quiet death, a slumber that never ended. His little sister found him when she went to bring him the groceries.

It wasn't sad, or painful but rather a strange moment of tranquility.

NOW THEY BOTH looked down at a girl. They heard about this girl.

She had a lot of names. Girl on Fire, The Mockingjay, but essentially she was just a girl with a bow and a heart. That was why she was able to look deep into the man's eyes before letting her arrow fly in a very different direction.

It flew above his head and settled into the woman's flesh. The girl with the once golden hair, now gray wanted to laugh when she saw the man she once knew laugh, as if he won.

Then the rebels swarmed around him.

He wouldn't join them, he didn't belong where they were.
