AURORA DANIELS
♡♡♡♡♡
When I was a little girl, I dreamed of big things. We all did, Im sure. But I didn't expect my life to take a turn the way that it did.
I didn't deserve to lose my parents at a young age. But the world had taught me, that no matter what happens, life goes on.
People move on, grow and change and that's how I felt about myself. These last few years on my own have shown me that no matter what happens, time does make things better.
"You ready, my sunflower," my grandfather spoke as he knocked on the door. I scooped up my dress to allow myself to walk so that I could unlock the door. The moment he saw me tears dripped from his eyes. "You look beautiful, my sweet girl," he choked out and immediately wrapped his arms around me.
"Thank you, Pa," I pulled away from the hug to stop myself from crying.
Immediately Adrianne burst through the doors, "Hurry up slow poke, you can't be late for your own wedding," She scolded me as she examined my face and my hair to make sure everything was perfect.
I was getting married.
To the love of my life.
We didn't plan a big grand wedding. We didn't even hire a makeup artist or a hairstylist. I preferred to do it myself. And although I was nervous, I knew I did a damn good job.
Soren joked that if I was late to the ceremony, he was going to marry himself. And he'd be a lucky man.
I smiled at her as she scurried away and did her maid of honour duties. Once everything died down with Arturo, literally died.
I managed to reconnect with Adrianne and apologise as well as explain everything to her. She was more than understanding and we got back into our old routines. Since I had all the free time, I could go out to the clubs more and that's where I was.
We went to the clubs almost every weekend and I was able to let loose and have fun, mostly because I had my bodyguard because Soren refused to let me out of his sight.
I didn't mind, mostly because Soren was having fun too, and I was happy that he was at a place where he didn't feel the need to be on guard. The soft sounds of my entrance song played and that was our cue.
My grandfather held out his elbow to me and I grabbed on. I was happy.
The crowd at the wedding wasn't large. I didn't have much family or friends and the entire wedding party consisted of people that have risked their lives for me.
Soren's parents stood with proud smiles as they looked at me. Lucia was in tears and when I saw her cry I almost cried too.
My little niece Quinn and her father Martin were there too. After Soren had told me what happened with Isadora. I made it my sole purpose to ensure that Quinn had a safe place to grow up. So I went on the hunt to find her father.
Soren and I also created a trust fund for Quinn so that she was able to do all the things life had to offer her.
Even though finances for Martin were tough, Soren had been generous enough to pay for all of Quinn's necessities until Martin could get back up on his feet. Quinn was starting pre-primary school soon, so we had paid her fees for the next few years upfront. Isadora had lost terribly in court and was deemed unfit to raise a kid. You can imagine how livid she was.
My eyes shifted up to see the man waiting for me at the altar. He was poorly fighting back tears as I watched them linger down his cheeks.
He stepped down to grab my hand as my Grandfather gave me away, not before whispering in my ear, "I love you, my sunflower,".
