The sun was barely peeking through the windows of Classroom 3B as the Horizon Shadow Class settled into their seats. Today was one of those rare free periods, and the students were ready to let loose.

Ann Christy was, as usual, sitting at her desk, surrounded by books. Her glasses slid down her nose as she tried to concentrate on her studies. Clency, sitting beside her, leaned over with a mischievous grin. “Ann, you can’t study all the time. Live a little! Watch this.”

Clency grabbed an eraser and expertly flicked it across the room. The eraser arced through the air and landed perfectly on top of Zawil’s head. Zawil, engrossed in her own world, didn’t even flinch. She slowly lifted her head, the eraser still balancing precariously. “Seriously?” she muttered, as she returned to her manga, pretending not to notice the giggles around her.

Hani, sitting a few rows back, was barely awake. Her head bobbed up and down as she fought to stay conscious. Finally, she gave up, slumping over her desk with a loud snore. The class turned to look at her, stifling their laughter.

Melcie, never one to miss an opportunity, quickly pulled out her phone and started recording. “This is gold,” she whispered to Vivie, who was trying to contain her own laughter. “We’ll play this back for her later.”

Vivie, always ready to crack a joke, whispered back, “Yeah, right after we add some funny sound effects. Maybe a chainsaw or a foghorn.”

On the other side of the room, Silverra Gail was holding court, regaling a small group of students with yet another one of her outlandish stories. “And that’s when I said, ‘If you want to catch a unicorn, you have to think like a unicorn!’” Her friends were trying their best to follow along, nodding in exaggerated seriousness.

Novelyn, pretending to be serious, nodded sagely. “Of course, Gail. That’s the only logical way.”

Angella and Nicole were in their usual spot by the windows, engaged in a battle of who could come up with the most ridiculous nickname for each other.

“Alright, Bubblegum Princess,” Angella teased, “your turn.”

Nicole laughed, “Fine, you win this round, Countess Goofball.”

As the class buzzed with various antics, Evagellina was walking around barefoot, as she often did, claiming it helped her “stay grounded.” She stopped by Olga’s desk, who was trying (and failing) to maintain her “innocent” façade while plotting pranks with Sherlyn.

“Are you sure this will work?” Olga asked, her dimples showing as she grinned.

Sherlyn gave a sly smile, “Trust me. It’ll be epic.”

Just then, the door creaked open, and Rendyy poked his head in. “Is the coast clear? No teachers around?”

The class collectively nodded, and Rendyy sauntered in, flashing a grin that made everyone think of an orangutan—though no one would dare say it to his face.

Alif, trying to look cool, leaned against the wall and attempted his best James Dean impression, only to lose his balance and nearly topple over. Filbert, standing nearby, gave a deep chuckle, his voice rumbling through the room.

Nigel and Max were in the back, absorbed in a heated debate about the best strategies for their favorite video game, oblivious to the chaos around them. Ransyam, ever the loud one, coughed so violently that half the class jumped.

Amirul, who had been quietly minding his own business, looked up and shook his head. “You guys are nuts,” he muttered, though a small smile tugged at his lips.

The period came to an end, and the classroom was filled with a mix of laughter and groans as everyone hurried to hide the evidence of their shenanigans before the teacher arrived.
