00 - Prologue

The the old man let out a sigh of relief when he saw the little girl sitting on the bench behind the tree, Wu had been looking everywhere in the village for her.
On his way the only thing he had passed was a small black bird quietly chirping.

"Good afternoon y/n." He spoke as he sat next to her.
The girl looked up confused, she had never seen this man in her life ever before. Let alone seen anyone lately.
"Hello ..?" She answered doubtful while she looked up at him.
"Wu, my name is sensei Wu." He finished her sentence.

"Well mister Wu, if I may ask what are you doing here? This village has been abanded for months." Y/n asked the old man sitting next to her.
"Then I could ask you the same, why are you still staying here y/n?" He asked nicely.
The girl looked down in pain. "I don't belong anywhere else." She said not keeping her eye of the ground.

"I'd have to disagree with you." He said and she looked up at him, "I think it's time for you to move on from your past and use your abilities for the greater good. I want to give you the chance to become a ninja, I will train you." He added.

She was quiet for a little bit, then she shook her head. "I would only mess up." She told him.
"I believe you are scared of failure, I want to help you with that. You have the power to do great things, I could use you on my team." He said and she thought about it for a while.

"I think your family would've wanted you to help those in need." He added. That last sentence made her change her mind.
She knew that her parents weren't proud of the person she had become, living all alone in the ruins of her once before home. Her parents would've wanted her to better herself and make up for her mistakes.

"I think you're right, what do you have to offer?" Y/n asked Wu, now sounding more interested.
"I can show you?" The man said standing up and y/n did the same.
She didn't have anything left to lose, this might be the chance she never thought would've come.

"Where are we going?" She asked giving him a thankful smile.
"To Ninjago. I've made a long journey coming here, I think you might take us back there faster?" He asked her giving back a smile behind his long white beard.

"I'll try my best, sensei." She said and she grabbed his arm.
The two persons standing there suddenly disappeared, leaving the little black bird all alone.
