Stars Hallow had always been a beautiful place. The greenery, tiny shops, even the houses all had intricate details that really showed everything Stars Hallow had to offer. However it was during the autumn season did it reach its peak.
My boyfriend Matt and I were going to the festival down town. Matt and I have been dating for three weeks. My twin sister Rory and I went to a hockey game, which was weird for us because my mom and Rory never really liked watching sports. I did though, so I usually went to school sporting events on my own with friends. This was a very special game, and Rory noticed that most of my attention was on #3, Matthew Sturniolo. The way he skated across the ice was graceful, but he played tough against the other players. She suggested that I go ask him out, but I was too nervous to. Rory asked him out for me a few days later when he went to Luke's Diner.
I was excited but nervous. We've been dating for three weeks now, and technically no, we weren't exactly officially boyfriend and girlfriend, but I had a feeling he was gonna ask tonight. I stressed how important this festival was for me. My mom always made sure Rory and I were having as much fun as possible, she tried her hardest to engage us in town festivals and stuff. It was important cause this was the first one I was going to attend without either my mother or Rory to accompany me. I also learned that Matt really liked autumn too, so I think it kinda was the perfect time for him to ask me out, I have it all planned out.
Okay, so first, he's going to play games and win me one of those kinda ugly, minorly freaky looking stuffed bears (but it's fine because it's cute, we're cute). After that, we're going to get a snack. Popcorn, maybe some cotton candy. And then we're going to the little shopping part, maybe buy some funny little trinkets for each other, silly and cute. And then after that he and I are going to go on the Ferris wheel and that's when he's gonna ask me out. And I think Kirk said they were going to try and do some fire works, but he was worried about the wind and the safety of the people, so he had to do a perimeter check or something, I can't remember.
"Well that seems like fun." my mom said. She and Rory helped me pick my outfit and do my hair and makeup. "I know! I might even throw in an I'm cold and see if he'll let me wear his sweater!" I was so nervous, this was my first ever date. "Do I look good?" I asked twirling around in a circle. My mom tilted her head to the side and gave me a once over. "I think you look perfect!" she claps her hands together. "I've been waiting for the day my girls have dates to thing's. Watching you both fall in love was something that they never explain to first time parents. It's a beautiful and scary thing." my mom rambles. She pulls Rory and I both into her sides. "You're both so cute I wanna lock you up, or eat you. Or both!" Rory laughs and I pull away, the sound of the doorbell catching my attention. "Rory, you get the door, mom ask him a few basic questions, I'm gonna come down in a minute or so, make him wait for me! Do not scare him!" I pushed Rory and my mom out of my room. I glanced in my reflection again, turning around in more and more circles. I really hope Matt thinks I look good.
