Things You Can't Outrun

It doesn't matter if you're the slowest kid in gym class or the fastest man alive. Every one of us is running. Being alive means running. Running from something, running to something or someone. And no matter how fast you are, there's some things you can't outrun. Some things always manage to catch up to you.

I've never spent my life running, instead I've spent it hiding. Hiding from my sister, my friend Barry. Or even at time hiding from myself. I do know that there are things that you can't hide from forever. Eventually you have to face them head on. But I've always been the person to hide from those type of things. I don't want to. But you can't change your habits. And mine? Mine is hiding.

I walk into S.T.A.R Labs after Cisco called me to tell me my suit is ready for me to try on.

"Fascinating, a meta human that can manipulate poison gas." I hear Wells say as I stand next to my dad.

"Is it just poisonous gas, or can he control all aerated substances?" Cisco asks.

"And how is he able to formulate the connection? Is it physiological or psychological?" Caitlin asks.

"This individual can create a mental nexus using gaseous substances." Wells tells them.

"You mean connect with gases on a molecular level?" Cisco asks.

"Yes." Wells tells him.

"That is ridiculously cool." Cisco tells him.

"They get really excited about this stuff." Barry tells dad.

"The only thing I'm excited about is putting criminals behind bars. Except iron heights isn't exactly equipped to handle meta humans." Dad tells them.

"Then I guess it's fortunate the ones you've encountered so far are no longer with us." Wells tells him.

"Well, unless we're planning on executing every super criminal, we stop, you geniuses are gonna have to come up with someplace else to hold them." Dad tells them.

"A meta human prison. Sweet." Cisco tells us.

"Until we figure a way to remove their powers." Wells tells him.

"There is one place here that might hold them." Cisco tells him and Wells and Caitlin look at him.

"You can't be serious. I mean, we haven't been down there since--it's cordoned off." Caitlin tells him.

"Cisco is right. It could be modified to act as a makeshift prison." Wells tells her.

"What could?" Barry asks.

"The particle accelerator." Wells tells him.

"Not to interrupt or anything but I'm on a time crunch I'm covering for someone at Jitters today and Cisco told me that my suit was ready." I tell them.
