9 months later
Aarchi had shifted to her maternal home for her delivery as per the tradition and was getting spoiled by everyone in the house. Vihaan always stopped by at the house and sometimes also stayed a night with her.
Such was a day where Aarchi was desperately waiting to have her baby in her arms. She was late by a few days from the expected date given by the doctor. She had sent her father and her husband for buying pickles and icecream as she still craved for such food at times.
"Will I be a good mom Mumma? I don't feel ready to have a child" Aarchi said panicking holding her hand over her pregnant belly. Kaira chuckled and stood up.
"You will be..." Kaira walked at a distance looking cool as Aarchi stood up too. Kaira suddenly moved her hands as if she was throwing something at Aarchi's belly making Aarchi instinctively wrap her hands around it and turn around.
"There's your answer baby" Kaira said smiling pointing towards Aarchi's hands.
"Protection is a mother's first instinct. No matter how strong she is, her first thought would be to get her children safe" Kaira helped Aarchi sit down.
"You are like the Santoor moms. I wish I'd be like you when I'm your age"
"Motherhood isn't exactly like what they show. You don't have to be a Santoor mom to be a good or a badass mom, it just depends on your child. For Aryu I was a badass mum because I got him out of trouble multiple times and also helped him with his idiotic plans, for Avi I'm the 'know it all' mum because he thought that mum would have answers to all his questions and to you my lovely child, I was your bestfriend and so were you mine"
"More than Ruhi masi?"
"Even more than her. You are a part of my heart. Growing up in a family full of males you reminded me of who I was. I liked our movie nights and coffee dates and those thousands of gossip stories. You were and are basically a mini me. Having a good skin and a healthy weight with a child doesn't make you a good mum, having connection with your child, understanding their blabbering and knowing them more then they know themselves is what makes a good mum"
"I'm scared of making a mistake. What if the child doesn't connect with me?" Aarchi asked worriedly.
"There's no crash course on motherhood, you learn things as they come like I'm still learning something new about you all everyday. Don't stress or you'll put stress on the baby. Okay?" Hearing Kaira put Aarchi to ease and she nodded her head.
"What do you want? Girl or a boy?" Kaira asked changing the topic.
"I don't know, as long as they are healthy I'll be fine but Vihaan wants a daughter" Aarchi said looking at her belly affectionately.
"Expected that. He really wants a daughter so he can rub it off in Rishav's face. He's actually jealous of you and Rishav you know?" Kaira asked laughing.
"He's just... he desperately wants a daughter and I have a feeling that if his wish gets granted, he's going to spoil our child extremely and I might have to play the bad cop then" Aarchi said chuckling.
"Rish did that too when it came to you. He would skip days going to work just to sit and stare at you. When I forced him to go to work he would take you with him. He's sat in countless meetings holding you in his arms as you played with his tie. For a long time there was peace in the office because he used to be so worried about scaring you if he shouted but once he shouted on an employee by mistake in your presence, you stopped playing and crawled to him and said your first word. That man cried darling, I've not seen him cry but when you called him, he cried and wouldn't let go of you even for a second." Kaira said patting Aarchi's head telling her stories from her childhood.
