mismatched (Bridget x Hook)

XVII- back to wonderland

Hooks POV
Hook had officially been kicked out of the VK crew after his attempt to stop Ulianas revenge plan. He was seen as a traitor, and fake villain. Maleficent even hisses at him every time they pass, although he believes that to be normal behaviour for her.

He didn't care about any of that stuff though, he was just really worried about Bridget now. It had been another 2 days since he built the courage to speak to her meaning it had been a whole 5 days since castlecoming. Bridget had still not left her room nor shown signs of planning to leave. She had completely lost herself.

Ella was still upset, she managed to turn her best friend against her without even realising or meaning to. She had tried to make things better with Bridget a few more times since the first and each time went the same way. Ella would try to apologise, Bridget would ignore her before eventually losing her temper and kicking Ella out.

Ella was on the verge of giving up and accepting the fact she had probably lost Bridget as a best friend. Thanks to this whole mishap though Ella and Hook managed to become friends, they had actually been working together to try and change Bridget back to herself.

"We can't give up on her." Hook was persistent, Ella on the other hand wanted to give up. "Hook. It's no use now, the old Bridget would of forgave us by now. I don't understand.. how a person can change so much so fast.." Ella frowned, trying not to tear up. Hook slowly nodded, "Yeah I guess. But I don't want to give up on her.. she never gave up on me." He crossed his arms, "I was only happy when I was around her, just being around her makes me feel like a different person. A happier better person." He smiled.

Ella looked up at him, wiping away the few tears that managed to escape. "Why aren't you happy about this anyway?" She asked, hook didn't say anything as he was confused, she understood his confusion by his face so continued her sentence. "You're a villain. Shouldn't you be overjoyed by the fact Bridget is this new mean girl." She shrugged, Hook felt hurt he didn't know why. "Was." He corrected her, "Was a villain." Ella raised her eyebrow. "I didn't like who I was, but Bridget helped me change. So now I want to help her change." He smiled again.

Ella realised how happy he was with her, like true happiness. This whole time Ella suspected it to be some sick joke, which it kind of was, but it wasn't Hook who planned that joke in fact he tried to prevent it. Then Ella realised how happy Bridget was with Hook and felt waves of guilt for constantly judging them.

Charming came over and sat on the table with them, "Hey guys, what you talking about?" He asked, kissing Ella's cheek halfway through the sentence. "Bridget." Hook responded, Charming lifted his head slowly saying "Ahh" he clicked his tongue and continued talking "don't worry guys, she'll come around." He tried to reassure them, but they weren't.

"She won't." Ella sighed, "It's been 5 days. Bridget before the prank would've forgiven everybody literally straight after it happened. I don't know why she's acting like this." Ella put her head in her hands. Hook was left in disbelief, "I mean she's rightfully mad." He stood up, Ella was confused "Wait where are you going?" She asked, "I'm going to see Bridget." He tried to walk away as quickly as possible to avoid the conversation going on longer than it needed too.

He made it to Bridget's dorm quicker than her expected, he went to knock but a lot of moving around in her room. "What is she doing in there?" His inside voice questioned. He gently knocked on the door, in which he heard Bridget respond with a loud groan. "Ella how many times do I have to say I don't want to speak to you! Ever." She had a lot of anger in her voice.

"Uh.. not Ella!" Hook tried to sound positive, Bridget quickly opened the door. "Oh sorry.." she said. He smiled at her, "What are you doing here?" She asked trying to block any sights into her room. "I told you I'd come back to check on you princess." He said, leaving her with a flustered feeling. "Oh right." She responded more emotionlessly.

"Well can't I come in?" He asked pointing into her room, she turned around to look into her room sighing and nodding opening her door for him. He was left confused when he saw her room. It had been destroyed. "What did you do?" He asked, shocked. "Cleaned it out." She said walking over to her bed, sitting on the end of it.

"Well.. it's very clean." He sarcastically said looking at all the mess. "Yeah very funny." She wasn't amused. He walked over and sat next to her. "Want me to help you clean it up?" He asked looking at her, she shook her head avoiding contact. "It won't be problem anyway." She responded. "What do you mean?" He asked. She turned her head to look at him. "Well.." she didn't really plan on telling anyone but she knew deep down that not telling Hook would be cruel considering all the happiness he gave to her.

"Well?" He tried to get her to finish, resulting in her sighing. "I'm leaving this stupid place." She looked down crossing her arms. Hook felt his heart sink, "Leaving? What? Leaving where? You can't leave!" He stood up, he felt overwhelmed.

"Yes.. I can." She stood up as well, "I'm going back home to wonderland." She hugged her stomach. "Wonder-" he stopped himself, "you said you're not accepted there why would you want to go back earlier than you have to?" He didn't want her to leave. "I'm not accepted here either Hook. I'm not really accepted anywhere. At least in wonderland I have power. Power that I deserve." She felt a feeling of ecstasy of the thought of her power. She always wanted to be queen.

"I accept you." He said walking over to her, "I want you here!" He raised her head with his hook so they were making eye contact. "You're not enough! I wanted everybody to love me! But they don't. I wanted to be a queen that everybody could love and look up too." She backed up away from him, leaving him stood there looking as though he was lost.
"But I know now." She clenched her fist, "I know that fear is better than love if you want power."

He just blankly stared at her, he didn't want to anger her by disagreeing. He just wanted her to stay.. "When will you leave?" He asked, not really wanting to know the answer. "Tomorrow." She said closing her one of her suitcases. "Will I ever see you again?" He walked over to her again. She went silent, "Why would you want to?" She sighed. She was facing the opposite way to him but he knew she was visibly upset.

"Because I love you." He gently smiled, she turned around and looked up at him. She had no words so she just leaned forward and hugged him, in which he quickly hugged her back. "I'm sorry Hook. But I have to go." She said, not letting go of their hug.

"Please allow me visit you when you leave." He said, feeling himself start to cry. She just nodded, "I would like that." She leaned out of the hug, noticed that he was tearing up. She went onto her tip toes and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you James." She smiled softly, "Thank you for giving me the love I always wanted." She looked at door hinting for him to leave.
He got the hint and nodded, kissing her hand before exiting the room.

He walked away, not wanting to look back at her dorm as he knew he'd cry. He couldn't believe she was just running away? She was just leaving him.. He felt as though even though only spending a week with her if felt like his entire life, he couldn't cope not being with her.
