"So... when are you leaving?" Hajoon finally asked after a long, deep silence between them, while his voice heavy with emotion.
"Maybe in a day or two," Taehyung replied, not meeting his gaze, his eyes focused on the distant horizon.
As they were sitting on the rooftop of their department's building, their legs dangling over the edge. It was a free period, and they were there carelessly, fearlessly, sitting on edge of the terrace.
"Is it really necessary to go?" Hajoon asked, his sad, puppy-like eyes pleading with him. But when Taehyung remained silent, Hajoon sighed heavily.
"Hyung said I need a break," Taehyung eventually responded, still lost in thoughts. And hajoon sulked quietly beside him.
"I'll miss you," Hajoon suddenly said, wrapping his arms around Taehyung's shoulders and snuggling closer, as if to convey just how much he would miss him during his absence.
"If anyone needs lessons on being overly dramatic, you're a perfect example," Taehyung mocked with a faint chuckle, playfully hitting Hajoon's arm.
"Whaa? Can't I be sad that you won't be here with me? You know I don't feel right when you're not around," Hajoon pouted, hiding his face in the crook of Taehyung's neck.
"Then come with me. It's just two weeks, and then we'll be back to our routine. Besides, Spain is really quite a place to explore, you'll love it." Taehyung suggested with a soft smile, finally turning to look at him.
But Hajoon sighed again, shaking his head.
"I can't leave Appa alone. Before you, I might have gone on a trip like that without a second thought, but now... I have responsibilities. I want to take care of him, so I'll have to skip this one," he replied, making Taehyung's smile widen with admiration.
"And it's your family trip. You all need this break after everything that's happened. I'll just wait for you to come back," Hajoon added, booping Taehyung's nose, which made him scrunch it in response.
Hajoon chuckled at the gesture, but his expressions soon turned serious as he looked at his cousin.
"I wish I could be as strong as you. You're my role model now, Taeyoni. You're so brave for someone our age. You deserve everything." Hajoon said, his words filled with admiration that touched Taehyung deeply.
He smiled outwardly, but inside, his heart still felt fractured, the pieces struggling to Mend together.
"Everyone is brave, Hajooni. It's just a matter of time. We all need something to break us out of our shells. And I'm blessed to have Hyung beside me. He's been my rock, helped me overcome my fears and weaknesses." Taehyung whispered, his voice barely audible over the gentle breeze that played with his hairs tightly held behind the bandana and the black-framed glasses beautifully perched on his nose adding to the fascination of his innocent features.
The wind was soft, but inside him, a storm of emotions was continuously raging, waiting to be released.
"I'm so proud of you, Taeyoni. So, so proud" Hajoon said, his voice thick with emotion as he hugged him again.
Taehyung tightened his lips into a small smile and gently caressed Hajoon's arm around his shoulders.
"Let's go... We shouldn't be late for the next lecture." Taehyung suggested after a brief moment of shared emotions. And hajoon sniffled, trying to compose his overwhelness and nodded eagerly.
Taehyung ruffled his hair, chuckling softly only to cheer up his mood to not let him dwell on the past that had passed and the pain it held.
Now tae was stronger than ever. He knew how to deal with things and specially his heart, that even after knowing there was someone in jungkook's life he was able to gather himself through all of this, all alone.
