The turning point in transforming victory into a successful failure for the great Officer Park Jimin was that..

The jeon Jungkook was alive.

And the police detectives, who had been discreetly monitoring every move of his lawyer, Jung Hoseok, were operating under the assumption that Jeon was dead.

But after days of relentless snooping, they received news that was enough to catch their senior officer completely off guard.

"How the hell is this possible? My target can never be a miss" he fumed in his office when Yoongi delivered the undercover information.

"Wait...what if it's just a lie, officer? A façade to keep his enemies in the dark? Maybe Jeon really is dead, and this is just a clever ruse to protect his throne. You know how cunning Jung Hoseok can be when it comes to manipulat people's mind." Soomin added giving his reasons to not believe the situation, in return to their pissed off reactions.

"I've been tailing him like a shadow, idiot," Yoongi shot back, his tone laced with irritation.

"Till the past week, he's been making late-night visits to that hospital. Our officers have been watching their mansion, and everything's been kept under tight wraps. Finally, Last night, they only barely caught a glimpse of an anonymous figure beside hoseok coming out of the car along with their guards, the person was quite better to be Jeon if he really got shooted in heart. So I believe he's alive and recovering, more like he just got some normal injury. I think it's time we move in and arrest Jung. A police raid on his house will give us the answers we need."

Jimin drew in a sharp breath, anger boiling beneath the surface as if someone had doused him with cold water.

He couldn't afford to fail, not when he was so close to revenge. He had given his everything into this mission, and there was no way Jeon could slip through his fingers after making a fool of him.

"Then what are we waiting for? We're going to arrest him. If not by execution, then by prosecution, but Jeon will meet his end," Jimin declared, rising from his chair with a fierce resolve. His juniors, sharp and professional, quickly followed suit, standing at attention and saluted him.

"SIR..." At that moment, another inspector entered the office.

"There's a meeting with the commissioner general. He has returned from his leave and wants all officers present." the inspector informed, saluting Jimin.

The brunette officer took in the information and subtly nodded, then the inspector left.

"Are you ready to submit the report?" Jimin asked his juniors. They both nodded confidently, fully prepared for the report.

~~~
"I didn't expect a shot at sight action from an officer like you Park. You're most diligent government officer of my department, you needed to act on the instructions first." As the conversation was going on and all report of three months was being submitted, the commissioner general said regarding his opinion at the shot decision took by the senior superintendent.
While Jimin looking slightly perturbed, replied,
"Chief, I believed the situation warranted immediate action than the instructions because according to situation it could have escalated the danger. My primary concern was encounter of the culprit."
"So were you able to catch the culprit officer Park" Said an elderly officer taunting not in jeon's support but in jealousy of jimin's high rank despite of his young age. He was not only one of that kind in the department. Jimin had faced many like these.
