She knew this was her only chance. She had to get out. And she hated herself for feeling like she was betraying Harry. Him and Uma were the ones who had held her captive in the first place, but he had given her a pillow and blanket and stood up to Uma for her, sitting with her and watching her write, it had seemed like he cared abou-
No.
Without a second thought she slipped through the open door, walking through the tunnel. It seemed too simple, but she would take that risk. The tunnel didn't have too many twists and turns, and didn't have any forks in the road, which made for a straight way to the exit.
It felt surreal, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, literally and when she got to that light, she ran out. Out 0f that tunnel she had been in for days, the sun of the Isle feeling like a blessing.
And then instinct kicked in. She knew she had to get off the Isle before Uma caught her again so she made her way to the hideout that Mal had showed her, trying to remember the way.
☀️☀️☀️
As soon as she got there, she immediately searched for a piece of paper to write a letter to Mal. That was the only idea she had. She wasn't sure if would work, but she had to try something in order to save Ben from what Uma had planned.
When she did finally find paper, she kept her letter short and sweet saying:
Mal, I hopeyou guys are all good in Auradon. As you know I'm still stuck on The Isle and I need a ride out. I'll explain everything when I'm back in Auradon. Send a car tonight at 6pm, I'll be waiting.
Love you, Amber
☀️☀️☀️ 6pm rolled around a little too soon for amber. She wasn't sure if Mal had even gotten the letter, but as it was the only chance she got at an escape, she had to take that risk.
Waiting at the entrance to the Isle, her nerves got the better of her. She felt herself getting nervous and had to remember to breathe. What didn't help was the fact that a bush kept rustling, making her think she was being watched. She brushed that thought off when she saw a squirrel run out of a bush next to it.
She finally was able to release that breath when a black car with the Auradon logo pulled up, Jay getting out of the driver's seat and Carlos out of the passenger.
"Jay! Carlos! Oh my god is it good to see you guys!" Amber gasped, running to hug both boys tightly
"Holy shit, Amber we thought you were dead or something!" Carlos hugged her back.
"I knew you were fine," Jay bragged, also returning her hug.
"No!" Carlos pointed at Jay, "you were almost in tears saying she was a goner!"
"No! No, I never sai-" Jay started before getting cut off my Amber.
"Wow Jay, just wow," and then " I missed you guys so much!"
Piling on the car, Carlos allows Amber to call shotgun saying "it's only fair, you've been through enough."
Just as Amber was about to get in the car, the bush rustled again, making her turn to look at the bush, this time not seeing a squirrel, but seeing none other than Harry Hook himself. He said nothing, just watched her. There was a moment before Amber got in the car when they made eye contact, two pairs of blue eyes meeting one another for a moment of silence before she got in the car and Jay drove them away, leaving Harry and everything else on the Isle.
