After the school day ended, Takemichi found herself lingering in the hallway, her nerves starting to creep in. The thought of meeting new people in the Sewing Club made her stomach flutter with anxiety. While her encounter with Mitsuya had been pleasant, the idea of walking into a room full of unfamiliar faces was daunting.

“Alright, Takemichi, you can do this,” she whispered to herself, taking a deep breath. With one last look at the school map to confirm the club room’s location, she made her way down the corridor, her footsteps echoing in the quiet hallway.

When she finally reached the Sewing Club’s door, Takemichi hesitated for a moment, her hand hovering over the handle. She took another deep breath and mustered up the courage to open the door.

Inside, the room was cozy and filled with various fabrics, sewing machines, and mannequins draped in half-finished projects. The air smelled faintly of fabric softener and thread. A few students were already inside, chatting casually as they worked on their projects. Mitsuya was there, too, focused on a piece of fabric he was pinning to a mannequin.

As soon as Takemichi stepped in, Mitsuya looked up and greeted her with a welcoming smile. "Takemichi-san! You made it."

His friendly tone eased some of her nerves. Takemichi returned his smile, though hers was a bit more hesitant. "Yeah, I did," she said, her voice a little shaky. "Thank you for inviting me."

Mitsuya gestured to the other members. "Let me introduce you to the rest of the club. Everyone, this is Hanagaki Takemichi. She’s thinking about joining us."

Takemichi gave a small bow. "It’s nice to meet you all. I’m Hanagaki Takemichi. Please take care of me."

The club members paused their work to look at her, offering warm smiles and nods of acknowledgment. Despite their welcoming demeanor, Takemichi still felt a bit out of place. She wasn’t sure what to expect, but the environment felt warm and friendly.

One of the club members, a girl with short hair, approached her with a grin. "Nice to meet you, Hanagaki-san. I’m Asuka. Welcome to the club!"

Another member, a tall boy with glasses, chimed in. "I’m Kenta. If you need help with anything, just let us know."

Takemichi nodded, her nerves slowly settling. "Thanks, I’m really looking forward to learning more about sewing."

Mitsuya, still standing by the mannequin, gave her an encouraging nod. "Feel free to explore and see what everyone’s working on. We’re all here to help each other."

Takemichi felt a bit more at ease as she moved further into the room. The other members were engrossed in their work, but there was a sense of camaraderie that made the room feel inviting. She wandered around, observing the different projects. The more she saw, the more her initial anxiety began to fade, replaced by a growing excitement.

As she passed by Mitsuya’s station, she couldn’t help but admire his work. The fabric he was pinning was intricate, with patterns she could tell took skill to handle. "Mitsuya-san, you’re really good at this," she commented, impressed.

Mitsuya looked up, a modest smile on his face. "Thanks, Takemichi-san. I’ve been doing this for a while. But don’t worry, we’ll start with the basics."

Takemichi smiled back, feeling more confident about her decision to join. Maybe this club would be the place where she could not only learn new skills but also find a sense of belonging.
