YEOSANG'S POV
I woke up to the soft light seeping through the curtains, a warm weight pressed against my back. Jongho's arm was draped over my waist, his breath steady against the back of my neck. I smiled to myself, feeling a rush of contentment.
Waking up like this every morning, with him beside me, was something I had longed for. For years, we couldn't do this—sharing a room with the others meant we had to keep our relationship under wraps, sneaking moments when we could.
But now that Yunho had moved into Mingi's room, we finally had the freedom to sleep in the same bed every night. I couldn't imagine starting my day any other way.
Careful not to disturb him, I slowly slipped out of bed, trying to be as quiet as possible. Jongho mumbled something in his sleep but didn't wake up. I took a moment to look at him—his peaceful expression, the way his hair was slightly mussed from sleep—and I felt that familiar warmth in my chest. After all this time, I was still amazed at how much I loved him.
I went about my morning routine, the usual motions calming me as I thought about the day ahead. Jongho eventually woke up and joined me, stretching as he walked over.
"Morning," he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep.
"Morning," I replied, smiling at his bed head.
We got ready together in our usual comfortable silence, each of us lost in our own thoughts but still sharing the space in that easy way we always did. Once we were dressed and ready to go, Jongho grabbed the keys to his car.
"You ready?" he asked, looking over at me.
"Yeah, let's go," I said, and we headed out the door.
The drive to the company was quiet, the soft hum of the engine filling the space between us. "Do you think today's meeting will be long?" I asked, breaking the silence.
Jongho sighed. "Probably. They've been talking about these promotions for weeks."
"Great," I muttered, leaning back in my seat. "Just what we need, more stuff to do right after the tour."
Jongho chuckled. "We'll get through it. We always do."
When we arrived at the company, we made our way to the conference room, joining the rest of the members for what turned out to be a very long meeting. It was all about upcoming promotions and potential performances—necessary, but exhausting. I could feel the tension in the room, everyone thinking the same thing: When are we going to get a break? We had just finished touring, and now there was already talk of what was next.
When the meeting finally ended, I couldn't resist making a joke. "Wonder when they'll actually let us breathe," I said, half-smiling.
The others laughed, a mix of understanding and exasperation, before we started to go our separate ways for lunch. Just as I was thinking about what to eat, San caught my attention.
"Hey, Yeosang," he began, a little hesitant. "Wanna join Wooyoung and me for lunch?"
It surprised me—I hadn't expected him to reach out like this, not after everything that had happened between us. I won't lie—back then I pushed his buttons on purpose, wanting to get a reaction out of him, and when he finally snapped, it drove a wedge between us. We drifted apart after that, and even though we worked together, there was always a distance, an unspoken tension that lingered in the air.
Even now, I could see the hesitation in his eyes, the uncertainty. He was trying, though, and that meant something to me. I knew I had played a part in the tension between us, and maybe this was an opportunity to start mending what we'd broken. But it wasn't easy to let go of the past, to forget the bitterness that had built up over time.
