HONGJOONG'S POV

We stepped into the studio, the familiar equipment and soundproof walls welcomed us. Seonghwa immediately walked towards the recording booth, his place of comfort. I watched him as he entered, his movements smooth and assured, like he belonged there. Which, of course, he did.

I grabbed the lyric sheet from my bag, trying to keep my hands steady as I passed it to him through the small opening of the booth's door. Seonghwa took it with a curious smile, his eyes skimming the words. I watched his expression shift as he read, his eyebrows knitting together in surprise as he absorbed the rawness of the lyrics.

He looked up at me through the glass, his eyes wide. "These are...intense," he said, his voice coming through the speakers.

I nodded, forcing a casual tone into my voice. "Yeah, I've been working on this for a while. It's for an American artist. They wanted something emotional, something that really hits hard, you know?"

Seonghwa's gaze lingered on the sheet for a moment longer before he looked back at me, a hint of something unreadable in his eyes. "You want me to sing the demo?"

"Yeah," I replied, nodding. "I knew you'd be perfect for it. Your voice will really bring these lyrics to life."

He didn't say anything for a moment, just stared at me with that soft, understanding look he always had. It was like he knew there was more to this, but he chose not to push. Instead, he nodded, accepting my explanation, and stepped up to the microphone.

"Okay," he said, adjusting the headphones on his head. "Let's do this."

Seonghwa stood in the booth, the lyric sheet in his hand, his eyes scanning over the words one last time before he nodded to me, signaling he was ready. I watched him from the control room, my heart beating a little faster than usual. I took a deep breath and hit play on the instrumental track, watching as the music filled the room.

The moment the music started, Seonghwa closed his eyes, letting the rhythm guide him. When he began to sing, his voice was like a warm embrace—smooth, rich, and filled with emotion.

He brought the microphone closer to his lips as he sung.  I couldn't help but smile, listening to him. He was exactly what the song needed. His voice carried the weight of the words in a way that was almost too perfect. As he sang, I realized just how much this moment meant to me—how much Seonghwa meant to me.

"I just wanna live in this moment forever,
'Cause I'm afraid that living couldn't get any better..."

His voice was smooth and velvety, I could feel the emotion in every word. I watched him, completely entranced, as he continued:

"Started giving up on the world forever,
Until you gave up heaven so we could be together..."

The rawness in his voice as he sang those words sent a shiver down my spine. He made the lyrics come alive, turning them into something beautiful and haunting. It was exactly what I had hoped for, and more.

He poured his heart into the song, his voice rising and falling with the melody, every note resonating with the feelings I'd poured into the lyrics.

"You're my angel, angel baby, angel."

When the final note faded out, Seonghwa slowly opened his eyes, looking at me through the glass with a satisfied yet curious expression. I pressed the intercom button, my voice shaky with emotion.

"That was... perfect, Seonghwa," I said, struggling to find the right words. "Just... perfect."

Seonghwa's eyes softened, and a gentle smile played on his lips. "Thanks, Joong. I'm glad you think so. This song... it's really special."
