==The good misfit==

Ketsuki reinforces his forearms and calves and thinks: “Alright, I now know that my fire should best be used for some heavy hits but not for the majority of a fight. That’s annoying.”

Michael’s arm transforms into something that looks like a gun and he asks cocky: “Ever heard of cybernetic enhancements? That’s when you implement machinery into your body to become stronger.”

Ketsuki replies: “Yeah, Erika told me about them for some reason and there was this one guy on Forest Haven who’s body was practically entirely mechanical. But personally, I don’t really understand the big fuss about them.”

Michael shouts: “Maybe you’ll understand when I do this!”, and, what seems to be, a bullet made of compressed and accelerated air comes out of the gun.

Ketsuki narrowly dodges as the bullet flies past his neck.

“That thing can kill me. He didn’t seem too strong but I have to be wary of the bullets. Maybe he can make up for his lack of strength like Raiden.”, Ketsuki thinks and rushes into close combat.

He forms a claw with threads around his hand and shouts: “Claw Destruction!”

Before he hits though, Michael blasts a broader air bullet into his face. It doesn’t deal any damage but blows Ketsuki meters away again.

Michael laughs: “Ahahaha! See? You don’t stand a chance against me because of my enhancement! You can only fight in close combat but you won’t get near me, no matter how hard you try!”

Ketsuki thinks: “I don’t have much time. I’m really worried about Raiden and this guy’s the most confident person I’ve ever met.”

Ketsuki dodges some more bullets and announces: “I’m gonna quickly get this fight over with. You’re nothing more than a nuisance.”

“So, what are you gonna do then?”, Michael asks.

Ketsuki retracts his threads and rushes toward him.

Michael asks more: “So you give up?”, not thinking he could lose.

With his arm, now swollen, he releases his “Borrum’s Wind!” which blows strongly for a long time.

Ketsuki then ignites his hands and feet and proudly shouts: “Wind makes fire stronger!”

He manages to keep running toward Michael who gets confused by the fact that someone outwitted him.

Ketsuki shouts: “Meteor Strike!”, as he punches Michael’s face and drags his entire body into the ground, ending in a huge meteor-like impact and explosion.

Ketsuki starts running toward the office, thinking: “I don’t have much time. I need to help Raiden!”

For a moment he stops, realizing: “Wait… did I in the fight just… think?”

He smiles proudly for a moment and then keeps going.

In the storage hall, Hans transforms his arm into a flamethrower.

Atsume asks: “That’s it? I thought you’d have more in storage for me.”

Hans replies hurt: “Don’t underestimate me! All those slaves fear this thing for its incredible power!”

“Just show me already. I have a feeling this fight isn’t too exciting.”, Atsume continues to provoke him.

She thinks: “If he uses fire, I should maybe use this fight to keep training my Supredou transformation. I already found out in a research session with Ketsuki that it resists fire. I hope I get time to train my Koa as well soon.”

She covers a few parts of her face and hands in scales because that’s as far as she can go and Hans tilts his head with a judgmental look.

“Hah? So you’re a lowly creature like all our slaves who needs to use filthy tricks to benefit from being treated as a human. What a scummy thing you are. You don’t even deserve to be exploited, you only deserve death!”, he says.

Atsume mumbles: “Gosh, Erika, these were your brothers? Your entire family is shit. I’m really glad you were a misfit. And I hope you like your new family better.”

“I shall incinerate you!”, Hans shouts, activating his flamethrower.

Atsume just stands there, holding her head right into the fire but she can endure it.

“What kind of trickery are you using this time?”, Hans asks as he notices Atsume not burning.

Atsume explains: “This isn’t any trickery. Your flamethrower is just that shitty.”

Hans gets angry: “Well how about I go full power then?! Might 2500 °C interest you?!”

He changes the way his flamethrower is built and the fire turns blue. He starts laughing as if he won already and Atsume jumps away after she starts getting burned.

She holds her forehead and thinks: “So I gotta transform even further? But how do I do that?”

Hans keeps aiming at Atsume, forcing her to jump around with Azeopri calves. Atsume then tries to concentrate all of her shapeshifting power onto the forearms. She succeeds in turning her forearms into the ones of a Supredou and then jumps off the wall, directly toward Hans, with high speed. She holds her forearms into the fire and it doesn’t affect her again.

Atsume adds spikes and shouts: “X-Acupuncture!”, destroying Hans’ arm and pushing him into the floor.

It gets ruptured and Hans is unconscious.

Atsume stands up, asking herself: “Now what should I do?”
