POV: Priscilla

I couldn't believe my eyes as I stared at the email. The words seemed to leap off the screen, dancing with the promise of a new beginning. I had just landed a significant contract with Osima Retails, one that could propel my fledgling business to the next level.

The client, Osima Retails is a well-established firm looking to revamp its brand and had chosen my proposal out of dozens. It was the validation I had been longing for, a clear sign that my hard work was finally paying off.

My heart raced with excitement, and I immediately reached for my phone. There was only one person I wanted to share this news with. As I dialed John's number, I couldn’t help but smile. Our relationship had been growing steadily, with each conversation and shared experience bringing us closer. Now, with this new achievement, I felt like we were both on the verge of something even more significant.

"Hello, Priscilla!" John's voice came through the phone, warm and familiar.

"John, guess what?" I exclaimed, unable to contain my excitement.

"What happened? Did you finally beat me in chess?" he teased, referring to our ongoing rivalry in the game.

"Even better!" I laughed. "I just landed the contract I told you about last week. The one with Osima Retails! They chose my proposal!"

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before John let out a loud cheer. "That's amazing, Priscilla! I knew you could do it!"

His enthusiasm was contagious, and I felt my heart swell with happiness. "Thank you, John. I still can't believe it. This could really change everything for me."

"It will," John assured me. "This is just the beginning. You’re going to do incredible things with this opportunity."

My smile softened as I leaned back in my chair. "It feels like everything is finally falling into place. But, to be honest, I'm a little scared too. This is a huge step, and I'm worried about how it might affect… everything else."

There was a knowing silence on the other end of the line, and Priscilla could practically hear the wheels turning in John's mind. "You mean us," he said finally, his tone gentle.

"Yeah," I admitted. "I mean, things have been going so well between us, and I don't want anything to get in the way of that. But this new contract is going to demand a lot of my time and energy. What if it changes things?"

He was quiet for a moment before he spoke again. "Priscilla, I think it's natural to be worried about how our careers might affect our relationship. But I don't see it as an obstacle. I see it as something we can navigate together."

Still feeling a pang of uncertainty. "What if we can't? What if our careers take us in different directions?"

John's voice was firm but kind. "Then we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But right now, I believe in us, and I believe that we can find a way to make it work. We've both worked too hard to let anything come between us now."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me. John always knew how to put me at ease, even when I was wrestling with doubts. "You're right," I said, exhaling slowly. "I just don't want to lose what we have."
