"Dinner was ruined after all." Hyunjin murmurs with a smirk, yet he's focused on the road. They immediately left the restaurant after Felix found out about his mom, he wanted to see her and get answers.
It's just like how it used to be. Not telling Felix about what's going on in family, only to get frowned upon once he asks about it. Aren't you part of this house? Didn't you hear, when we were talking about it? no, he was used to ignoring all of their words, just in case it would hurt him, so no. He didn't hear.
Felix looks up at passing lights on the street, "sorry. I will make it up to you when we get home."
"Oh, my love, " Hyunjin smiles as he glances at the passenger seat, however his smile is a mix of softness and sadness, "when will you realize that I won't let you distract yourself with sex?"
"Distract myself from what? This doesn't even effect me."
"I've said this before. You don't have to say words for me to know what you feel, " Hyunjin's hand slides on Felix's thigh, squeezing it as a gesture of reassurance. "I can read you like a open book."
Felix doesn't answer, but corner of his mouth curls up in a small smile as he looks away, not wanting Hyunjin to see it, but he does anyway.
Hyunjin didn't know how to show support, how to be there with someone who he cared for, but with Felix, it came naturally. It pained him to see his lover's head down, flying away from reality only to be caged with thoughts. With Yuki, Hyunjin never knew how to help. But right now, it was like an instinct.
"Do you think people love others differently?" Hyunjin asks as he parks his car in front of Felix's old apartment.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, I loved Yuki and I love you, but it's completely different loves."
Felix undoes his seatbelt, his hand reaching for Hyunjin's face as he caresses his neck softly, before leaving a warm kiss on his lips. "Save this for next book you write about me."
"Cocky bastard." Hyunjin chuckles to himself after Felix leaves him alone in the car.
Should he follow him? This is a family matter after all. Hyunjin drove him at Minho's apartment, which Felix used to live before running away. Felix wanted to talk to his brother and Ms. Lee, who apparently stayed here now, before divorce was finalized.
Hyunjin jumps a little as Felix knocks on his window, gesturing to roll it down, "aren't you coming?"
"I thought I would be extra there.."
Felix smiles, "whether you like it or not, you're now part of the family now with it's fucked up members, besides, I'm too much of a coward to do this without you."
Hyunjin doesn't object a thing. He calmly gets out of his car, taking Felix's hand in his as they walk to the entrance.
His old apartment is exactly how he remembers it. Not a thing changed, other than the unusual emptiness of it. Last time he was here, three people were living here, now only one. Which made it look so... let's just say there was too much space than it used to be.
