Jeongin doesn't exactly know why he imagined the hotel as some kind of cheap hookup spot—purple and green neon lights, stale cigarette smell, and filled with couples like them seeking a place. But now, as he stares down at the marble floor of the grand lobby, he can't help but feel impressed.

The chandeliers cast a golden glow across the lobby, and the marble floor adds a final touch of elegance to the quiet, expansive space they're standing in.

"Mr. Kim, I'm sorry, but the room you booked isn't ready yet," the receptionist says with a slight bow, apologetic. "We expected you a little later. I can offer you a different room?"

Seungmin's expression turns a bit sour as he shakes his head. "We'd rather wait. How long will it take?"

"About an hour, sir."

"Fine. We'll have dinner, then. Or is the restaurant already closed?"

"They're about to close, but I'll ask the chef to stay for you, Mr. Kim."

Seungmin nods and glances at Jeongin, who's looking slightly uncomfortable. "You haven't eaten, right?"

"Uh, no, but it's—"

"Nonsense. You have to try their lobster; I assure you, you've never had lobster like this."

"Well, I've never had lobster at all, so..." Jeongin can't help but crack a smile, watching Seungmin's eyes widen in surprise.

"Goddamn, then this lobster will set the bar so high you won't enjoy it anywhere else!"

"Seungie, calm down," Jeongin laughs, but Seungmin winces.

"Call me something else. Hyunjin calls me that, so it feels... weird."

"Okay, Minnie," Jeongin teases, grinning. Seungmin's eyes widen slightly in surprise, but he doesn't say anything, and Jeongin feels a little thrill in getting under his skin.

They walk to the restaurant, where the receptionist gives Seungmin a curious look, her eyes flicking between him and Jeongin. "Mr. Kim, may I ask—who's this with you tonight?"

Seungmin gives her a polite but dismissive smile. "My date, for the night."

Jeongin feels a flash of irritation at the casual tone, but he holds back, following Seungmin into the dining room. As they settle in for dinner, he grows more restless, his mind replaying Seungmin's words.

Halfway through the meal, he can't hold it in anymore. He leans forward, fixing Seungmin with a steady gaze. "Why'd you introduce me like that to her?"

Seungmin looks up, brow raised in confusion. "What else would I call you? Don't tell me you got embarrassed about booking a hotel to have sex."

Jeongin's jaw clenches. "Oh, I couldn't care less about that. But it's... uncomfortable when you take me somewhere you bring your one-night stands and then introduce me as your 'date for the night.'"

Seungmin's expression shifts, and a hint of surprise flickers in his eyes. He opens his mouth to respond but stops, looking at Jeongin as though seeing him for the first time.

"Is it what you think you are?" Seungmin questions, "one night stand?"

"I mean, after you call me date for tonight, wouldn't that be logical thing to assume?"

Seungmin chuckles, "funny, how you didn't get mad at that part, but rather that you thought I brought you to my hookup spot."

Jeongin stares down at his plate, suddenly losing his appetite. The lobster, which was incredible moments ago, doesn't taste nearly as amazing anymore.
