Lillian //

Minutes after I sent Grace back to her room, Luke came waltzing into the living room where I was currently reading.

"Nice job. I trusted you on not doing anything stupid and you treated Grace just how humans should be treated." Luke clasped his hands together, "Tonight we will be finding out if you inherited my mind control power or something different. It shouldn't take long."

I marked my place in my book, sighed, and stood up.

"How do we do this?"

Luke grabbed my hand, "We test it out on Grace."

My eyes widened.

"What powers do you have, Luke? I know for sure I haven't seen them all."

Luke grinned and gave me the 'oh you'll see' look.

He led me back down the dreaded basement stairs only to wake a sleeping Grace, pull her into the chair in which I woke up in after changing, and tied her down.

"Watch and learn." Luke smirked.

Luke stepped forward, almost face to face with Grace. He made eye contact with her and whispered something that I couldn't hear.

Grace's eyes seemed to gloss over and she began to kiss Luke.

I instantly learned that Luke was using the power of mind control on Grace. He whispered something again and Grace pulled away, gasping.

Luke took a step back, never breaking eye contact with Grace.

"So Lillian, I heard Grace here still hasn't learned to say Yes and No correctly. I feel she deserves a little punishment." Luke smirked.

Grace began to whimper and then scream as her body violently shook. She repeatedly asked for Luke to make it stop.

"Oh sweetheart, that was barely anything." Luke laughed, "I have one last trick and then it's Lillian's turn."

With his mind, Luke played with Grace's hair, not once touching her.

Telekinesis.

"Lillian already knows I can read minds as she can too. She's just too scared to realize she is. Just a heads up, Grace."

And with that, Luke stepped away. Everything happened so fast.

"The show's all yours. I know you have the same powers as me, I can feel it, you just gotta activate them," I hesitantly stepped forward, "The faster you do this, the quicker Grace can sleep. I scheduled a feeding in tomorrow and she needs sleep."

Luke had a point. I looked at Grace, locking in eye contact.

I concentrated and murmured, "She's thinking about how scared she is and how she doesn't want the pain to come back."

Luke nodded, "Continue."

I figured trying telekinesis would be the next painless thing and played with the buttons on her sweater. Check.

"I know you don't want to, but I need to know if you can do the pain part of mind control, Lillian."

I sighed and thought of fire. Grace visibly began to sweat and whimper. I pulled away.

"That's enough pain."

Luke only rolled his eyes, "You still have one more thing to do."

I made eye contact once more with a sweaty Grace, "Sleep."

Grace's eyes fluttered closed and Luke clapped, "That was a very ironic command you know, since that was the first thing I did to you."

I giggled, "Can I put Grace to bed now? Next time I'll use something less ironic. Maybe we could watch a movie together and relax after?"

Luke shrugged, "I'll meet you upstairs. Don't take too long."

He kissed me on the cheek, leaving the room. I unchained Grace and pulled her into my arms. I felt a strong need to protect her.

I carried her to the cage, set her down gently and covered her with the blanket. We might not get cold, but I could still see the goosebumps on her arms.

I stood up and locked the door. I couldn't stay down there all night, I had a movie night to attend.

As I walked up the stairs and turned the corner, Luke was finishing building a tent of pillows and blankets.

How cute and not so typical 500 year old vampire. I giggled and hopped inside next to my mate.

"I figured we could watch a scary movie, I mean that gives you a reason to cuddle with me." Luke blushed.

"Let's watch some movies. To warn you though, I'm not easily scared." I replied smirking.
