I looked over the make shift grave as another tear escaped my eye:

Ashton Irwin
A Great Friend and Companion
Lived a Long Life With a Smile Always On His Face

Luke and I had buried Ashton later that evening, hand in hand.

Logan woke up some time after, Luke thought he had actually died. He was under tight restraints at the moment though. Luke was really skeptical that something was off about Logan.

"Hey Luke, how are you managing to control yourself like this? Please don't tell me that one day you'll just snap. Your alternate side is a pretty dark place and it was really hard to get you out of it."

Luke smiled for the first time in days, "You are my anchor. Without you, I would probably be out killing innocent mortals. If I hadn't have found you, my humanity would be gone and you would've seen your city's population go down ridiculously fast. I believe it was fate that found you, just in time."

I pecked him on the cheek, "I love you."

Luke pulled me closer to him, we were seated on the couch in the living room.

Luke giggled, "Do you want to watch a scary movie?"

"Of course, I would love to," I grinned, "try not to get too scared."

The lazy vampire used his telekinesis to flip off the lights. I laid my face onto his chest and we began to watch the movie.

I found it hard to concentrate, everything just seemed so perfect. I was happy.

Luke nudged me, "Hey, pay attention. Your thoughts are more interesting than the movie. Some people would like to actually watch the movie!"

I rolled my eyes but fell silent. The smile never left my face though, Luke would have to deal with that.

-----

The movie flew by and Luke was of course a nervous wreck. I didn't understand how the elder vampire was terrified of a silly movie.

"Hey Luke, what's that noise?" I whispered, I heard a noise from downstairs.

"Lil, that's not going to scare me," Luke rolled his eyes, "I'm not falling for that one."

The noise became louder. Luke groaned.

"I guess we can go look." Luke muttered tiredly. We got up from the couch.

Maneuvering down the stairs to the basement, the noises got louder.

I gasped when I saw what the noise was.

It was Logan and he didn't look well, human. He didn't look like a vampire either.

Luke cursed, "Why can't anything ever go right?"
