I sit in Colby's lap, his hands rubbing my stomach as we talk about baby names.

"If it's a boy he needs a badass name, like Axel or Zade." He says.

"I don't like Zade for sure." I scrunch my nose up, "what about something country, like Waylon or Cash?"

"What about Forest?" He offers, "you know something dark and mysterious since he's gonna be a werewolf and all."

"Hard no." I shake my head, "what about girl names? The baby could be a girl."

"What about Laken?" He offers.

"What? Is that like an ex girlfriend or something?" I laugh at him.

He rolls his eyes, "no, I just like the name."

Colby's phone starts buzzing, him swiping up to answer and bringing his finger to his lips signaling for me to be quiet as he puts it on speaker.

"Uhhh Colby?" Blaine's voice rings through the air, "is Danny there?"

"Blaine, did you lose my mate?" Colby seethes, pretending to be angry with him.

"Uhh....no....yes...maybe? I think the correct term is misplaced it." Blaine rambles.

"You have no idea where she is?" Colby asks again, an angry tone in his voice.

"She said she was going for pickles and ice cream. I had already made her cry because I tried to convince her to eat a salad so I wasn't going to stand in her way. She said she would be right back but that's been about a half hour ago." Blaine rambles.

"A half hour? She's been here for an hour and a half."  Colby rolls his eyes.

"So she is there? Thank Goddess." Blaine breathes a sigh of relief.

"You and Brittany are fired from Danny Duty." Colby huffs before hanging up the phone, resuming rubbing his hands on my belly. He pulls me up so he can press his ear against my belly.

"What are you doing?" I giggle.

"Listening to the baby's heart beat." He whispers.

My heart flutters, I didn't know he could hear its heart beat like this. His hand rests next to his face, cupping the small bump that I swear appeared in the last five minutes.

"You need to see an OB so we can figure out how far along you are. We have so much to prepare for and a short amount of time." He looks up at me.

"I know, I'll call tomorrow and make an appointment with the pack doctor." I nod.

"I don't even know what all we need." He shakes his head, "I was only two when my brother was born, so I don't know what it takes for a baby."

"A lot." I smile, "a crib bed, mattress, sheets, swaddles, diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers, clothes, shoes, car seat, stroller." I list off the main things.

"Have mercy, I don't think I realized a baby needs so much." His eyes widening.

"It's okay honey, we will get it all." I smile at him, before climbing off his lap and curling up next to him.

"I love you Danny." He whispers, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

"I love you more, Colby." I whisper before I fall asleep curled up in his arms.

"Danny...babe...let's go. They are discharging me." Colby is shaking me gently, trying to get me to wake up. The exhaustion of everything that happened over the last couple days plus the pregnancy just draining me.

I sit up, rubbing my eyes trying to wake up as a wave of nausea crashes over me and I'm scrambling to the bathroom.

Colby enters the bathroom, squatting down next to me and smoothing my hair back, "are you okay, love?"

I nod, still fighting the urge to throw up again, "I'm okay. Just morning sickness."

He nods, before his eyes drop down to my stomach, the small bump that was there yesterday has nearly doubled in size just over night. I look down, noticing he's staring at my stomach and let out a shocked gasp.

"Oh my God." I stand up, my stomach looking extremely bloated in the mirror hanging on the back of the door.

Colby watches me, standing up to come rest a hand on the small bump I'm sporting. "Our baby is growing." He smiles.

"So am I." I say as tears well up in my eyes. Obviously I knew I would be gaining weight throughout this pregnancy but I just didn't expect it to be so fast.

"Hey, why the tears?" He whispers, spinning me around to face him.

"I'm getting fat, and fast." I sob, tears running down my cheeks.

"You're not getting fat." Colby says sternly, "you're growing our baby. Your body is growing a life. Our pup." His hand resting on my bump again.

I nod, "I know, and I'm thankful for our pup and for you, but, my body is still changing and is never going to be the same."

"You won't ever be the same, Danielle. You're going to be a mother, and that pup is going to be so lucky the moon Goddess made you its mother." He hugs me, kissing my forehead sweetly, "I am going to love every phase you go through Danny, and your body too."

I sigh against his chest, "I love you, but you're sure you are still going to love me when I look like a beached whale?"

He chuckles, his chest vibrating with the laughter, "you are never going to look like a beached whale. You are going to look like the woman I love growing my pup, and that is always going to be a beautiful sight."

My eyes well with tears again, but this time over the sweetness that Colby is showing, and I don't think I could ever thank the Moon Goddess enough for the sweet man she has given me.

"Come on, let's get out of here. We have a party to get ready for." He smiles, taking my hand and walking us out of the hospital room.

We walk down the long corridor, hand in hand when he suddenly stops, causing me to halt with him.

"What's wrong?" I ask, turning to look up at his face.

"Nothings wrong." He starts, pulling me closer, "hopefully the next time we have to walk out of this hospital, it will be to bring our pup home."

I smile up at him, "do you want to stop by the nursery on our way out?"

He nods, pulling me down the hallway before we stop in front of the glass window of the nursery, all the babies in the little bassinet style beds lining up in rows. The little pink hats and blue hats sticking out from the striped blankets the babies are wrapped up in, all looking snug and content.

"They're so tiny." Colby says, glancing over to me.

"Says the one who doesn't have to push it out."

He chuckles, "I guess that's a valid point."

We stand in the window, admiring the babies for a few more minutes before we decide to head back and get everything ready for our party.
