Chapter 14: Whale Fishing

ACU II, First Gen "Pride" it's an 11 meter tall Bipedal Human Like Machine. It has 4 limbs, powered by a downsized Twin Composite Radian Flow Cosmo Engines seen in the Cosmo Tigers. Capable of holding 2 weapons on each hand it was created with a simple goal in mind.

Enhance the effectiveness of the Space Mobile Armours by giving it greater manueverability and survivability in space while also being capable of linking the mind of its pilot to the machine partially. The Human proportions were intentional in order to not create a disruption within the Pilot's immersion.

In the very early stages of its development it was meant to either have a Wave Motion Engine or a Kelvin Impulse Engine both of which were used on ships but due to size and weight and difficulty in operating within atmospheric conditions made it implausible.

By this point in development the Armored Combat Unit has not found any suitable Pilot even Lei Lowe who had promising qualities was ultimately unfit to serve the entire potential of the machine leading to further downgrades of prior prototypes. But now the first ACU, Pride of the Medium Weight Type (II) was conceived.

The Machine was equiped with a Linear Rifle a weapon that uses both conventional and railgun technologies to fire rounds at higher speeds even if it cannot penetrate an armor of a Gamilan Heavy Cruiser it's Kinetic Impact was enough to divert it off-course from it's anchored position. On its shoulders each were anti-ship Missile Launchers with a photon sword as backup.

Today was the machine's combat debut,

//"Those are the Slovikians huh." Lei spoke in amazement. Their ships were huge and colourful that it was easy to see it more as a work of art than a vessel of war.

"Everyone is looking forward to this so Lei let's go." Maryland began inputting commands within a terminal.

In reaction to those commands the escorting small ships around Maryland's Ship, Hood, gathered themselves to its hull.

These Small Ships were Antares Modules created by Mars Arsenal Realtech Sorcerery or just M.A.R.S. it was their greatest achievement, as a Corporation with ties to Maryland they have developed many weapons and support equipment in particular they developed the widely successful subengine the Kelvin Impulse Engines, many of its employees were ex-scientist who worked on and reversed engineered Bolar Technology¹ that lead to a leap of advancements still seen in use to this day.

Each Antares were equipped with 1 triple 360mm Shock Cannon Turrets each with a 480mm Missile Launcher attached to the rearmost of the module's hull. And 4 Quad 40mm Laser Defense Weapon turrets in each side of the Module making the Battleship capable of matching the firepower of 3 Dreadnoughts in 1 in exchange for lower energy efficiency.

The Famed Shark division of the Slovikians that even Bolar pays special close attention to had already met up with the alliance of fleets against the Earth Federation.

Their goals were dodgy but all saw Earth as a Potential Major threat greater than Gamilas. They had believed that Earth would be following the footsteps of Gatlantis and would act as the homeworld of Gatlanteans.

"Begin Training Exercise." The Slovikian Vice Admiral ordered.

In total the Slovikian Shark Division had 14 Escort Ships (Light Cruisers), 12 Destroyers, 8 Battlecruisers, 4 Battleship, 2 Carriers, 1 Dreadnought as Flagship.
