Hania's father fell into Hanan's arms. He was unable to speak and could only make inarticulate sounds.
Hania was missing!
That's all he could comprehend, enough to raze his confusing facade.
Uncle, where is Hania? I-I
He opened his mouth to speak but only air came out as if the words lost their way. He props himself and struggles to communicate with the police officer.
Miss Hania Sikander has been missing for the past week. The last person she called was "you" Mr. Hanan. That's why we are here to get your statement. You have to come to the police station with us. The police officer explained.
Hanan could only bobble his head up and down.
The first step of Guilt peaked inside him.
He went along with the officer.
Hanan stepped into the dark investigation room. He didn't know why but something was off.
DSP Shakir came and sat across him.
Do you know why you were brought here? He asked.
Yes! To give my statement regarding... Doctor Hania's disappearance. Only Allah knows how he spat those words.
You are on the prime suspect list in this case. What statement are you talking about Mr. Hanan? Shakir's smirk was confusing just like his words.
What do you mean? Hanan asked, momentarily dumbfounded by this very DSP's remarks regarding him.
I think I said it very comprehensively but if you want to negotiate your way to the victim card, I won't let that happen. Without letting him grasp the situation DSP Shakir yelled his guard's name and told him to put Hanan behind bars.
Expeditiously, he was inside the prison cell. He blinked and startled back his emotions. He calls on the top of his voice, but no one was there to pay heed to his pledge.
Hanan was tortured simultaneously for 48 hours to accept that he abducted Hania because of a lover feud.
DSP Shakir hit Hanan with the long metal bat with his hands tied behind his back.
Spit out, where is Hania Sikander? The sooner you will tell, the better it will be for you. Shakir growled.
Hanan didn't utter anything and was just enduring it. There was nothing to say except the guilt he was feeling.
The second step towards that emotion.
Everything was his fault. He couldn't solve the conundrum behind Hania's disappearance. They never fought so why the DSP is so eager for him to accept this fake statement? Something was wrong and he could see himself falling into the dark pitch of this scheme.
His train of thought hauled when he hears Nadir screaming his lungs out in the next cell.
I swear it was all Asad Bukhari's plan. I didn't do anything. Please let me go. He is the one behind Hania's abduction. Please, let me out. I am innocent!
Shakir calls at the top of his voice.
No noise when I am working. The tone was demanding and overbearing.
The puzzle pieces started to assemble in Hanan's mind.
Asad Bukhari! He heard that name before.
Why would he get so low and abduct her? He was known for his polite nature. So, why did he abduct his Hania? Hanan couldn't help but think this way. Little did he know what happened behind his back. He wouldn't be calling him Polite from his vocabulary.
