"Let's return to the present."

Aware of Minhaaj and Hanan's plan, Asad Bukhari contemplated adding an amusing and lively twist to it.

These children simply do not know when to ceaseLet me show the young generation how things are done here. As I am a veteran, I think it will be more entertaining to play with the girls first. He brushed his fingers on his beard with a sinister chuckle.

Call Dildar Khan and tell him to come back. We have a feast to devour. Asad said it to one of his men.

Okay sir. The man replied and vanished in the dark.

Once more, will fate toy with Hania, or will she finally have her revenge? Only time can reveal the answer!

Back to the cottage where Mahlaaj and Minhaaj are staying.

Mahlaaj snuggles into something soft. The alluring scent of chocolate cologne was unmistakable, yet she couldn't quite fathom why this captivating fragrance was lingering so close. Her eyes shot open, and she found herself in Minhaaj's arms.

How?  When?  What time?  She didn't know.

Think Mahlaaj think! Why are you so inept? She whispered words to herself, attempting to rewind the memories of that time.

Fatigue overwhelmed her body suddenly. In mere moments, she went from yawning contentedly on the sofa, her stomach satisfied, to resting her head on Minhaaj's shoulder.

This girl's nonchalant behavior would be the cause of my death, I swear. Minhaaj's inner voice spoke with a heart that fluttered.

He felt the gentle whisper of her breath against the nape of his neck. His heart missed a beat. Minhaaj cradled her face in his hands and gently guided her to recline on the sofa. The blue orbs of his were glued to her face.

He traces his forefinger in the air, from her long lashes framing almond-shaped eyes, across her beautiful cherry cheeks, to her red, plump lips.

He was so petrified to touch her, fearing she might crumble in his hands. He placed his arm near Mahlaaj and rested his face on it, letting out a deep sigh.

What have you done to me, Mahlaaj? I'm losing control over myself. It's just you, yet you make me lose my sanity. You've stripped away the shell I've covered myself with for so long. I always fall for you, no matter how hard I try not to. You always make me question what love is. Is this what my parents experienced when they were deeply in love? I don't know if I could ever be a good spouse to you. I mean, I want to be, but I don't know how. We used to be parallel lines, but you broke through. Is it finally time for me to take a step towards you? Minhaaj pondered his fate.

On the spur of a moment, he was brought back to reality.

No! Minhaaj! You are not going to be in her life. One step and you will bring all your misery into her life. A piercing voice jolted his senses.

He stood up abruptly and whacked his back against the table.

Ahhh!!!He clenched his teeth tightly, determined not to make a sound while Mahlaaj slept peacefully like a baby. He rubbed his back with his strong arm and hastened toward the door.

Minhaaj attempted to sleep, but suddenly, everything seemed devoid of color. She wasn't there beside him. Once again, his thoughts were ensnared by her absence.

Ugh!!! Why can't you leave my thoughts? I hate you Mahlaaj Khan. Minhaaj kicked off the blanket and cast a glance in her direction.

Noticing Mahlaaj curled up in the cold outside, he walked out, scooped her into his arms with a look of annoyance, and carried her back to the room. He lay down beside her, his mind weary to the point of exhaustion, unwilling to demand the same from his body.
