LOLA HAS BEEN STARING AT THE CEILING FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. she would train her eyes on the ceiling until they burned. then she would keep them shut for a while. every time she opened them again, she hoped it was all just another one of her horrifyingly realistic nightmares and that she'd wake up soon.
but she never did. everything remained the same. her sore body told her that this was very real. her friends occupying infirmary beds told her this was very real.
will approaches her bed and bends his knees a bit. he follows her gaze and joins her in staring at the ceiling for a few moments.
"i don't know about you but i only see cracks and spider webs." he says with an exaggerated confused face. "it's not fun to look at."
the corners of lola's mouth curve upwards a bit. "i see the same as you, bug. this ceiling is boring."
the son of apollo takes a lollipop out of his pocket and hands it to her. he says, "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, right?"
