BEFORE THALIA PASSED AWAY AND HER TREE BECAME A PROTECTIVE BARRIER, camp half-blood would frequently be attacked by monsters. lola was well aware of this, and she was very thankful to have grown up without worrying about monsters entering her home, so imagine how shocked she was to see two bulls beyond the border. and not just regular bulls—bronze ones the size of elephants. and if that wasn't bad enough, they breathed fire, too.
as soon as they exited the taxi, the grey sisters peeled out, heading back to new york, where life was safer. they just left the three kids on the side of the road, lola with nothing but her bag and weapons, tyson and percy still in their burned-up tie-dyed gym clothes.
"what on earth..." lola mumbles as she looks at the battle raging on the hill.
what worried her most weren't the bulls themselves. it was the fact that she could only see ten heroes in full battle armor who were badly injured and burned. her heart began to race furiously. why are there only ten?where was everyone else? are they all in the infirmary? how long have they been fighting for?
