I found myself staring at my stomach. My once nearly flat stomach was starting to swell up. It mostly looked like bloating. A small mass was beginning to grow. Each day I noticed it more and more, but today. It was so impactful. I couldn't button my pants, I barely got them over my hips. My body was changing bit by bit. I slid off my jeans and sighed. I went over to my duffle bag. I grabbed some loose sweatpants. I slid them on, untying the strings to keep them loose. I then slid on a hoodie.

"Yo, stiles. We're meeting up with Lydia and Malia, You coming with?" Scott asked as he peaked in on me. I had been crashing on their couch for six weeks. I had attempted to get an apartment, but my savings didn't go far. so, I picked up two jobs. One was a basic tech job, then a diner. I finally had my paychecks back. Today was one of the days I had off from both jobs, so I was planning to go look at some apartments.

"After I check an apartment a few blocks away, then yeah. I can go" I answered him. He nodded and chuckled softly.

"Want us to come with?" Scott asked. I shook my head.

"Nah, I'll meet you there," I told him. He nodded and grabbed his keys.

"make sure to lock the house," he told me. I waved him off before grabbing my bag. I heard him shut the door, and then a few seconds later his car started. I let out a quiet sigh. I went through the routine of locking the house. When I finished I went out to the jeep. When I got inside, I took a second. Something had smelled off. I quickly felt my stomach churn. I cupped a hand over my mouth and opened the door. I leaned out and started to dry heave. I felt like I was going to puke, but it didn't go any further than dry heaving. When I felt it the wave go away. I leaned back into the car, but the same smell was there. I got out and shook my head. I walked to the back and opened it. I looked through some of my bags. I found my lunch box from the day beforehand. I opened it and grimaced as the smell washed over me. It was clear that that was the source, but the smell seemed far worse than it should be. I shook my head and walked to the trashcan back by the house. I threw away the entire lunch box.

When I got back into the jeep I had to roll all my windows down. I then started to drive. When I got to the address of the building, I could see the main door was open. I parked and took a minute to compose myself. Since finding out, my anxiety had been getting worse. Once I got my heart to stop beating so fast, I got out. I walked towards the door. I saw a lady walking a couple out towards me. She told me goodbye before turning on her heel to look at me. She gave a soft smile.

"hey hun, I apologize, that couple had a million questions" she joked as she checked her list.

"You must be Stiles, Your father reached out about you. He speaks so fondly of you, "she said. I was caught off guard. I looked at her confused.

"What?" I asked. She tilted her head.

"Your dad... He set this up?" she spoke with hesitation.

"I just thought I just got an email through one of the websites I signed up for" I admitted and shrugged. She nodded her head. She gave me a soft smile before getting out a pamphlet.

I looked up at her and shook my head. She nodded slowly. She took a second before refreshing her smile.

"Well, No matter. Your dad says you would be an amazing fit here. So, we have two apartments up. One was just recently put on the market, then we have the one we advertised. A small one-bedroom apartment. Then we have the new one, a two-bedroom apartment on the fifth floor. The second one is a bit more expensive. Since you would be the first to see it, I would be willing to make an amazing deal," she informed me as she picked up a clipboard. I nodded slowly.
