Abhimaan:

For a fleeting moment, my mind went utterly blank before panic surged through me like a tidal wave. "What?!" My throat constricted, and tears began to pool in my eyes.

I spun around abruptly, shouting, "Veer! Contact the hospital immediately and summon a medical team to the mansion-NOW!" Veer's reddened eyes, already brimming with unshed tears, indicated that he had heard the guard's ominous words. Without hesitation, he sprang into action.

Zade, silent but resolute, pressed harder on the accelerator. Although the mansion was still a distance away, I was determined that the doctors would be there, tending to her by the time we arrived.

My mind churned with a maelstrom of thoughts as we sped toward the mansion. Why was there blood if it was merely her blood pressure? How long had she been unconscious? It was possible she hadn't even been asleep earlier when I checked on her through the security cameras after leaving the police station.

I swallowed hard, striving to rein in my emotions. I should never have left her alone. Damn it!

My heartbeat accelerated as the mansion loomed into view after what felt like an eternity. I didn't even wait for the engine to stop before I bolted out of the car, sprinting toward the mansion as though my very life depended on it.

The sound of footsteps trailing closely behind told me that Veer was right there with me. We rushed towards the room where the doctors were currently attending to her. Panting, we waited at the door, just as Amara and I had done when Veer was being operated on.

I swallowed hard again, trying to steady myself as the realization of having my loved ones repeatedly in danger, yet being powerless to save them, gnawed away at me. My vision blurred, and I felt a hand on my shoulder.

Turning, I saw Veer-still panting, looking utterly exhausted, with silent tears streaming from his bloodshot eyes. Seeing his tears, my stoic facade began to crumble, and I felt my own eyes betray me as they too let my tears down.

Veer was about to speak when suddenly, the door to the room opened, capturing our full attention. Two doctors, a male and a female, stepped out. "Mr. Rajvansh..." the male doctor began, and I stood there, heart in my throat, feeling Veer's grip on my shoulder tighten, mirroring his own fears. "Your wife has been poisoned."

It felt as if the ground had been ripped out from under me as my eyes widened in shock. I heard a sharp gasp from Veer at this devastating revelation.

"We have attempted to identify the poison, but at this moment, we can only trace a small quantity in her body. It appears that the perpetrators administered it gradually-it was a slow poison. We will need a larger sample to determine the exact nature of the poison and thereby develop an antidote," the doctor continued.

"We're administering dialysis since she's lost a significant amount of blood. She should regain consciousness in a few minutes, but if we don't identify the poison soon, she may suffer another attack, and her organs could begin to fail, leading to her dea-"

"NO. DO NOT finish that sentence," I snapped, my voice hard as steel, cutting off the female doctor before she could complete the dreadful thought.

I saw her visibly flinch, but I don't give a fuck . My attention shifted to Veer, who was standing nearby, his chest heaving as he bit down on his lip, eyes fixed on the floor, overwhelmed by the gravity of the situation.

I stepped toward him, gripping his shoulders firmly. "Veer, you have to stay strong. We need to save our Amara. Close your eyes and take deep breaths."

I watched as he followed my instructions, his eyes closing momentarily before reopening, now filled with renewed determination. "We will save her," he declared, his voice steadier.
